Couldn't find any threads on this, so here goes.
Just watched this tonight with the family, and was pleasantly surprised. It's based on the novel by John Marsden (Not the cowboy, but the Australian), a series of 7 novels, in the young adult age group.
Basically, its Red Dawn all over again - a group of teenagers takes a weekend hike, and while they are out in the wild, some unnamed enemy conquers Australia. The lead, Caitlin Stacey is actually pretty good, as are some of the other cast.
I don't know if it was just the mood and the company I was in, but the movie was pretty tense, and good, with a few laughs thrown in here and there, and while much of the plot is pretty un-plausible, it was still good entertainment.
If you have a few hours to kill, and don't necessarily need a film classic but just have some fun, perhaps with a teen daughter or son, its a good choice.

watched this last night. pretty good, just don't expect the scale of Red Dawn since, as Raz mentioned, it is based on the first in a seven book series and only covers the first book. a good portion of it is the kids coming to terms with their new reality, and it's lighter on action then I expected.

It's been in my queue on "Very Long Wait" status for quite a while but it finally shipped yesterday so I'll be watching it tonight or tomorrow.
