coming in 2013, provided we don't all die before then.  I wonder who they're going to get to play the new Lara, maybe Kate Beckinsale or Rhona Mitra?  of course they do say 'young Lara', so maybe it will be an unknown.

[edit]  I'm assuming Jolie is out at this point just because of age.

I find it amusing that they're "rebooting" franchises that are barely 10 years old.

I think in this case they need to reboot it because the 2nd movie was so bad it booted the franchise into the grave.  icon_twisted

I own the 1st and quite like it. My only criticism of how it was handled is that the plot was pure Pulp adventure, whereas the game aren't so formulaic. If they want the movies to capture the puzzling elements and true feel of the game they need a script that lets the audience think a bit for themselves.

With such short times between all these reboots, it's like all Windows 98 up in here.

Well if Jolie is too old, those other two would be as well.  They're all in their mid to late 30's.  Rhona Mitra is the youngest at 35, Jolie is 36 and Beckinsale is 38.

damn, I thought Jolie was older for some reason, and didn't think the other two were that old.

I would have used the term "pathetic".  Honestly, maybe it's time to reboot the Thor franchise.  Get it done before the original comes out.  Save some time.

The movie coming out soon is the reboot. Or did you mean reboot the reboot before the reboot fails?

There's another Thor film out there?  I was under the impression that the one coming in May was the first live action Thor film in the Marvel franchise to ever make it to the screen.

...which is why it's vital that we reboot it before it hits theaters.  You can NEVER be too early for a reboot.

edit:

well, it seems there HAS been a live action thor in the past.

well, they're still working on a reboot, but I guess a 2013 release is out of the question now.   however, they are bringing in Crystal Dynamics to consult on the reboot.

Hmm... mixed feelings about this. I like some of the TV screenplays she's penned and I always appreciate a Writer that's also a decent Producer. On the other hand, I didn't care at all for her rewrite of the Fright Night screenplay, which to the best of my knowledge is the only film she's done writing for.
