If you wanna see the trailer in 480HD, or download it in up to 1080HD, here be Apple's link: http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/paramount/thor/*Click the little "down arrow" in the right of the Watch Now button to get the various HD options. As awesome as the newly added FX are, I'm actually more keen on what seems to be some good humor and heart to it.

I preferred the first trailer, with all the Asgard scenes it's still looking good though kinda glad Natalie Portman gave up that silly idea about giving up acting to concentrate on her degree ,as you can't miss her lately, she was in that Comedy fairy Tale thing last year(how did that do by the way?),Black Swan and now Thor, and probably a shit load others

i've wondered for quite a while how they would manage to work the mythology/scifi aspects of the Thor character into a movie without it seeming to forced and ridiculous. there's a big difference in what you can get away with in a comic compared to on film, but the latest trailer looks like they might have made it work. i'm cautiously optimistic at this point...

From a site called "Stuff": Thor is stripped of his Hammer – the source of his powers – and cast out of Asgard by his father for encouraging war. Enter Natalie Portman, who Thor inevitably falls in love with, as most of us have already done. Then Earth’s attacked by the God’s brother Loki and the armies of Asgard. Let’s hope Thor defends Earth or it’ll be a short film. Man, where would they go with a sequel? That's kind of a tough storyline to top. Maybe Thor gets a job on the Chrysler assembly line in Detroit, where his hammer comes in handy...

Man, where would they go with a sequel? That's kind of a tough storyline to top. for Hollywood? easy..Introduce a kid to the scene from the back on the DVD/BR case from the year 2015: "Thor(Chris Hemsworth)gets Jane(Oscar Winner Natalie Portman)knocked up and so the sequel rallies around the lovable Thor Jr(completely state of the art CG) and the scrapes he gets into causing Ma and Pa to rescue him from embarrassing predicaments and hilarity ensues"

They crib Hercules' sidekick newt, and it becomes a coming of age story with explosions coming from everything Thor touches... which is OK, because he's barely in the flick. Anyways, newt and the love interest have to travel to the north pole to retrieve mystical lock de-icer to be able to open her chastity belt while being chased by robotic assassin cowboys. The sequel is named THOR: NORSE by NORSEWEST

Collectible Movie Ticketshttp://senitype.com/*These have a 35mm film frame, some exclusive images, and a redeemable movie ticket (up to $12, so it seems like you'd have to pay the difference on full price shows most places). Some cool recaps of the characters, thought it might be worth sharing (in Spoilers, in case you'd rather go into theaters "cold" this summer): Thor Character BiosSpoiler for Hiden: Thor Thor, heir to the legendary throne of Asgard, is a brave and restless warrior who longs for the call to battle and the rush of glory. Armed with Mjolnir, a mighty hammer hewn from the sacred metal Uru and forged in the heart of a dying star, Thor is nearly unstoppable in battle with the weapon in his grip. Only a worthy hero may wield Mjolnir, and Thor must learn to use its extraordinary power for the good of all the Nine Realms or risk losing it forever
Loki Loki has always been jealous of his older brother , so when Thor is banished to Earth he sees an opportunity to seize Odin ’s throne . Through deception and a dangerous alliance , Loki sets a plan in motion to become the next ruler of Asgard .
Sif The beautiful Sif is the most distinguished Warrior-Maiden in all of Asgard, known for her boldness, cunning, and weapon expertise. few are a match for her in combat. Uninterested in the glamour and theatrics of fame, Sif craves only the thrill of battle and the honor of serving her kingdom.
Odin Odin, the All-Father and wise ruler of Asgard, has spent thousands of years establishing a delicate peace across the Nine Realms. When his eldest son Thor, heir to the throne, takes irresponsible actions that threaten that peace, Odin is forced to make the heartbreaking decision to banish him to Earth. Odin hopes Thor’s experiences there will teach his son humility and allow him the chance to prove himself a worthy successor, but dark forces have their own plans for the future of Asgard and its king.
Destroyer Forged by the All-Father Odin, the emotionless metallic entity known as the Destroyer is tasked with guarding the Vault of Asgard – a storehouse for the most powerful weapons and relics in all the Nine Realms. The Destroyer is powered by the same cosmic energies that flow through Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, and the All-Father himself. The Destroyer answers only to the king of Asgard, making it a supremely loyal ally…or an invincible foe, should its might ever be hijacked for evil!
Heimdall Heimdall serves as the lone gatekeeper and sworn guardian of the Bifrost Bridge, Asgard’s only means of travel between realms. Heimdall can focus his extraordinary senses on any world, seeing and hearing all that transpires even in the furthest corners of the universe. His intimidating size and battle prowess makes him the only Asgardian fit to defend his kingdom from those who would destroy it. Captain America will have similar ticket offerings apparently, just not announced quite yet.

First clip, technically, though most of the scene's in the various trailers: http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/161609-the-first-thor-clip-is-online*I'm convinced the youngster gal (Kat Dennings: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0993507/) who yaks so much in the scene and the trailers was added to appeal to the Facebook Crowd, or perhaps to guys who apparently think Natalie Portman at 30 must be, like, some sort of, OMG, fossil. Interesting tidbit, Green Lantern's trailer is to be attached to Thor when it hits theaters: http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/161424-green-lantern-trailer-to-hit-with-thor/

I'm not a big fan of the whole "Asguardians are actually a super advanced alien race" approach I've heard is part of the film, but I'll be there opening day nonetheless. I have no willpower when it comes to resisting superhero movies. Nothing like childhood favorites up on the big screen to bring back memories of childhood.

Collider.com's impressions: http://collider.com/thor-review-video-blog-review/86449/If you were nervous that Marvel would somehow not be able to bring Thor into the same universe their previous movies occupy, don’t be. I’m happy to report Thor is not only great, but it kicks open the door to so many other characters. If audiences respond (which they should), over the next few years, look for many other larger than life characters on movie screens. Pretty enthusiastic although there's a running theme in early reviews that Portman's character seems underwritten or perhaps over-edited. Although, hey, I don't think Superman is crazy about Lois Lane in the '78 movie than for any bigger-than-life-reason other than he's simply smitten with her. As with most Marvel films now, there's supposedly a humdinger easter egg after the closing credits. Something to remember for when you do see it.

I did a seach for a thread for "Thor" and came up blank and then errantly created a new thread. I want to keep my comments in the original so I'm reposting here. I certainly knew the movie was coming soon, but there's some things I wasn't aware of i.e. that Kenneth Branagh directed and that it stars Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins. [Or maybe I just forgot since it seems to be well covered here ] The movies' early screening reviews are off the chart, so I'm thinking it's going to be an opening night viewing for me. It opens in my city on May 6th - anyone else here planning on going 1st night?

fwiw, Variety's review from April 17:http://www.variety.com/review/VE1117945029?refcatid=31Neither the star pupil nor the dunce of the Marvel superhero-to-screen class, "Thor" delivers the goods so long as butt is being kicked and family conflict is playing out in celestial dimensions, but is less thrilling during the Norse warrior god's rather brief banishment on Earth.
With Aussie hunk Chris Hemsworth impressive in the lead and helmer Kenneth Branagh investing the dramatic passages with a weighty yet never overbearing Shakespearean dimension, pic looks sure to reap big B.O. on the strength of its ready-made audience, but faces a tougher time attracting viewers for whom this type of fare is the exception rather than the rule. I've yet to see any truly negative reviews fwiw (I keep saying "fwiw," cause it's not like Transformers films ever lack for B.O. despite constant critical bashing), just a lot of observation of Portman's character seeming underwritten or even needless, and the earth-bound stuff not coming across as well as the bigger-than-life stuff. I understand why it's in there. If you don't show Thor with some humility and appreciation for us puny earthlings, imho, then all you've got is a preening Thunder God with a hammer spouting Norse-isms. It just doesn't sound like the best-done part of the film. Generally though, it sounds good. I kinda screwed up -- I took this Friday off (birthday week) whereas maybe I shoulda taken next Friday off so I could see an early show, but I'll live.
