Here's a new shot of Asgard, with Odin's wife Frigga standing on the left. Behind her is Loki wearing his traditional horned helm from the comics. To the right are Hogun the Grim (dark haired), and Fandral the Dashing (light haired) of the Warriors Three. Conspicuously absent is the always tardy Volstagg. It also looks like Odin's Ravens, Huginn (thought) and Muninn (memory) are perched on the sword hilt behind Odin.

It really looks like they are on Gallifrey. I think they just took the sets from some of the Tom Baker episodes.

It was a cross-reference to Tony Stark's weapons systems (Iron Man), when in fact it was The Destroyer.

10,000 web sites linking to the leaked trailer just screamed all at once. You can still see a small version (for me it Buffers a lot and plays in fits and starts) and blow-by-blow stills over here: THOR Comic Con Trailer and Screencaps!http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/Poniverse/news/?a=20833I pray this will wipe the 16 year old bad taste of director Kenneth Branagh's awful take of Frankenstein out of my mouth at last. I saw it with a friend then and we laughed almost the entire film. I don't think it was intended to be a comedy. You have to hope they're getting the Henry the V Branagh (or even the Dead Again Branagh) instead. Nothing else in his oeuvre (ah! big word!) seems to scream "Thor!" but then again Jon Favreau made no sense to me as Iron Man director at the time he was first announced. Maybe choosing less-obvious choices really is the key, rather than some hot young music video director with spiky hair.

Teaser trailer now officially released: http://marvel.com/videos/watch/1670/thor_trailerIf that gags, try Yahoo: http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1810026342/trailer*HD is available there, check the lower menu. This has a few more special effects sequences than the leaked Comic-Con stuff back in the summer, supposedly (I don't remember really).

I missed the leaked trailer so just watching this for the first time and have to say it looks pretty great,i like the S.H.I.E.L.D connection being the same guy from the Iron Man films,I am guessing he will turn up in the Avengers as well
surprising to see Rene Russo as well, she has really fallen off the radar of recent years

Added. In July 2010 it was reported that the film will be released in 3-D. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Kenneth Branagh stated that the 3-D process initially made him cringe but "We came to feel that in our case 3-D could be the very good friend of story and character for a different kind of experience". Although 2-D was used for principal photography, producer Kevin Fiege stated that the "special effects for the film were conceived and executed from the beginning in 3-D".

I think Russo was already 37 by the time she got her big onscreen break as Riggs' (Mel Gibson) hard-nosed Chopsocky female cop girlfriend in Lethal Weapon 3 in 1992. So she's probably about 55 now, and Hollywood tends to not have much room for 55 year old actresses in the kinds of action films she made her mark in for a decade or so (In the Line of Fire, Outbreak, The Thomas Crown Affair etc.). Though like seeing Karen Allen again in Indy 4 a couple years back (after she seemed to all but disappear for many years), it is a treat. Yeah, I too found the 3-D emphasis in the trailer a wee bit alarming. We'll see.

From what I've heard, added 3D makes the movie look like crap. So I'll aim for a 2D showing unless I start hearing raves about the flawless 3Dification on this one.

It's not the size of the hammer but how you swing it that counts! Plus He is the Almighty Thor, he need not compensate for any mortal short comings.

You would think THOR, SLEDGEHAMMER. Not THOR, LET ME HAMMER SOME NAILS. The hammer Shaq used in Steel looked better than THor's hammer. And yes, I know there is the whole myth about Thor's Hammer and how Loki disguised himself as a fly and whatever that made the hammer so short.

I haven't had a chance to watch the trailer, but the hammer at the end of Iron Man 2 was the size I've always seen in the comics. I think the idea is it does have to be huge because Thor is so strong and Mjolnir is so magical.

I think the hammer looks exactly like it should based on the comics. If they made it any bigger then people would bitch because they aren't sticking with the comics.

Yeah, I have quite a few older Thor comics (like 1980s, 1990s older), and the hammer was never really all that huge -- it's supposed to be small enough for him to hang on his belt (like a pistol in a holster). What's supposed to be HUUUUGE is the impact the hammer has when he uses it or hits the ground with it, and the trailer suggests we will get to see some showstopping effects suggesting just that. btw, the Rock Tanker poweset in City of Heroes has a couple fun-as-hell powers that do something similar to Thor but on a smaller scale, as far as banging a hammer into the ground or just leaping on the ground and seeing a rippling, cracking in the concrete/ground. Not close enough for copyright infringement concerns, but enough for a Thor fan to have some fun.

Oh I know, and the myth has a whole reason as to why the hammer is as it is. Still looks like a dorky hammer. And I watched the trailer in 3D at the beginning of Tron and the 3D in it looks absolutely horrible.
