I like the UK Trailer better. Plus it gives a bit more detail about them traveling with Charles Darwin who doesn't even get a mention in the US trailer. Also, the name was changed for US audiences. |

If you haven't, READ THESE BOOKS! This series is brilliant. One of my all-time favs.
I can't tell you how excited I was to hear that a) there was a movie coming and b) Aardman was doing it and 3) it's coming out on my birthday (unless that's changed)!
I'm a little bummed that they had to change the name for the American release. However, I actually kind of prefer the American trailer.

just finished the first book (slow day at work), and I have to wonder how they're going to handle all the 'inner dialogue' in the movie. some of the funniest stuff if from what the pirates are thinking, or flavor text.

Watching the trailers, I'm not certain that there will be more than a loose connection to the books, really. As you said, the descriptions and internal stuff is a big part of it.
However, since it's Aardman, I'm not too worried.

finished the Ahab Adventure, but not I'm kinda stuck- I can't justify spending 9-10 bucks for each of the remaining 2 books since they're both less that 200 pages a piece. hopefully they put them together in a bundle at some point like they did with the first 2 books. still, it's a great read for the first two books.

yeah, Cum On Feel the Noize seems to be a bit out of place, but overall I liked the trailer and the way they're handling Mister Bobo so far. |
