BY CROM, ARNIE'S BACK!Universal Pictures has made a deal for The Legend Of Conan, an action film that will star Arnold Schwarzenegger in one of his signature roles as Robert E. Howard’s mythic barbarian. The deal brings Conan and Schwarzenegger back to Universal, which released the first film that launched Schwarzenegger’s movie career back in 1982. Universal has world rights on the film.
The film will be produced by Fredrik Malmberg and Chris Morgan. Malmberg is CEO of Paradox Entertainment, which holds the rights to Conan. Morgan is the Universal-based writer and producer whose credits include the last four Fast And The Furious films, along with Wanted and 47 Ronin. Morgan has hatched the story and might write the script. The caveat is that the studio wants The Legend Of Conan for summer 2014, and Morgan might not be finished writing the seventh Fast And Furious installment by then. If that happens he will be a very active producer, because this is Morgan’s dream project. damn this man is busy.

From the linked article: “The original ended with Arnold on the throne as a seasoned warrior, and this is the take of the film we will make,” Malmberg told me. “It’s that Nordic Viking mythic guy who has played the role of king, warrior, soldier and mercenary, and who has bedded more women than anyone, nearing the last cycle of his life. He knows he’ll be going to Valhalla, and wants to go out with a good battle.”

The only problem is that Arnold Schwarzenegger is no longer Arnold Schwarzenegger. He looks like an elderly woman now. I don't see how this can possibly be anything but a disaster.

Hopefully they'll have a large "special effects" budget.

This image was shown with the story of him turning 65 in July just gone..for 65,you can't say he looks that bad TBH..but i do get what you mean for film, just Keep him covered more than he was in Conan1 with a shitload of Furs and stick a wig on him...and lose the Bermuda Shorts The picture below i think is from his upcoming film 'The Tomb' and if the make-up does it's job then i think he can look the part of an older Conan...give him a full beard though and this is the picture from the end of the first Conan film(which from the story,it seems to be the time when this new Conan film will take place)...i think they can make it work,i think he can honestly recreate the below picture at least

It'd be cool if Conan had to use a Rascal Scooter in all his fight scenes....

Arnold looks better at 65 than 99% of all people have ever looked in their entire lives. His arms are only in their mid-35s and will live on after he dies, choking the sh*t out of people who dissed him. Seriously, he looks good there, and amazingly great considering he is now collecting a social security check.

Very risky idea. He's 65. Most of the fanbase remembers the Conan movies from the 80s fondly, but 30 years plus is a long time between sequels. His Conan would have to be a king and there would have to be lots of primeval action, sex and gore.. with him on some heavy-facial/CGI makeup, of course. If they get a good script and director, it could work.

it seems the other image was actually from 1996, but I bet he does not look as bad as he did here.
