BURBANK, CA, March 22, 2011 – Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures are reteaming with Todd Phillips for “The Hangover Part III,” the third installment in the record-breaking comedy franchise, which is slated for release on May 24, 2013. The announcement was made today by Jeff Robinov, President Warner Bros. Pictures Group.
“The Hangover Part III” will star Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis, who will reprise the roles of Phil, Stu and Alan, collectively known to moviegoers as “the Wolfpack.” In the previous two films, the three friends’ attempts to plan a celebration have resulted in disaster for them, but led to a combined billion-dollar success at the worldwide box office.
In making the announcement, Robinov stated, “We are extremely pleased to have Todd Phillips and the guys back together again for another ‘Hangover,’ and we look forward to collaborating with them on another great movie.”
Phillips said, “I’m so excited to embark on another ‘Hangover’ film with Bradley, Ed and Zach. We’re going to surprise a lot of people with the final chapter we have planned. It will be a fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions.”
Phillips is writing the screenplay with Craig Mazin, who also collaborated with him on the screenplay for “The Hangover Part II.” Phillips is again producing the film under his Green Hat Films banner, together with Dan Goldberg. Thomas Tull and Scott Budnick will serve as executive producers.
Production on the film is projected to begin in September 2012.
CAA represents Phillips, Cooper, Helms and Galifianakis. Phillips’ attorney is Warren Dern from Sloane Offer Weber & Dern. Helms is managed by Principato-Young and attorney Ira Schreck from Schreck Rose & Dapello. Galifianakis is managed by Brillstein Entertainment Partners and attorney Jared Levine from Morris Barnes & Levine.
A presentation of Warner Bros. Pictures, in association with Legendary Pictures, “The Hangover Part III” will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company. sweet! loved the second one, and I'm glad to see they aren't going to try and run the series into the ground.

It seems like Zach Galifinakas' character is the only one not married, so it would make sense if he wanted to do a bachelor party with his pals.

Yeah hopefully they change things up by having the guys all out, with Ed Helms promising not to get too fucked up, only to have Zack slip them all a rufi, creating a night that none of them can remember, and zaniness ensues, that would be fresh.

it worked well enough in the sequel, which I liked more than the first. My prediction is that it isn't Alan that drugs them this time, but Stu.

The second film is so astoundingly bad and unfunny, I couldn't believe it. It still earned coin at the box-office.. from people that must've gone just cause they had nothing better to do that night. That's the reason why we'll be getting a terrible third one to cap this 'trilogy'.

Remind me to never trust Ceekay's opinions on comedies. Seriously, the second one is Hollywood-robbery, shameless-cash-in trash. No way is better than the first.

The second is not better than the first, but I was expecting it to be pretty awful, given some word of mouth, and the wife and I were both pleasantly surprised.

Hot Tub Time Machine is a better movie if your intention is to fall asleep. Seriously I can't even remember a funny scene in that entire movie.

The first Hangover was excellent. #2 was merely okay, being pretty much MOTS. I'll still see #3, probably at home though.

I can't imagine that a third Hangover movie will have enough originality to even reach the fun of the first movie.

This is it. I loved Part 1, and part 2 was still fun, but a part 3 is asking too much. Also, did anyone else notice that The Hangover is essentially the same movie as Dude Where's My Car? Only The Hangover is much better.

Same here. Motley Lou always makes me laugh. Plus, the suave and understated comic genius that is Craig Robinson.
