Did anyone watch this season of either singing show?  Both winners were ones I picked pretty much from day one as my favorites, so I was more or less happy with the results.  Interestingly during the first half of the season I was convinced The Voice had far stronger vocal talent all around, but by the end I barely watched any of the show and just FF'd through to see a couple of singers and who won.  I was a fan of Tessanne, but honestly she started getting boring in the latter half of the show.  Oddly enough the best part of the whole season had to be Xtina and Lady Gaga going softcore lesbo singing together in the finale.

On X-Factor, I liked about half the contestants until the last few weeks, where all I bothered to watch was Alex and Sierra.  I don't know if they will find mainstream success, but it was a real pleasure watching and listening to them perform.  Either of them could have done well in the competition as individuals but together they were just fantastic and mesmerizing.  If you like male-female duos at all, they are worth checking out, most of their competition stuff is on iTunes.

I think I'm out for good for these singing shows. I haven't watched American Idol in two(?) seasons when it became all about the judges and the talent pool seemed to be drying up. The Voice I've only caught brief clips of and the singing didn't sound all that great from what I heard. And gave X-Factor a shot the initial season but haven't watched it since. So the fat lady has sung for me.

Still just as in for So You Think You Can Dance and Survivor though.
