I'm very much on the fence here. On the one side, I'm with spigot - everything I love about fantasy in one movie. On the other hand, all of that fantasy seems way too over the top for a movie where the protagonist is stuck in a mental institute. I don't require films with that plot line to all be dreary sobfests, and kudos to Zach Snyder for mixing things up. But I'm reserving thoughts until I see it save for one. As a demo for what he's going to do with Superman, I can't wait. Can you imagine a genuine Superman film where he flies like that and punches the crap out of Braniac, Darkseid, or some other bigass villain? You want to watch every geek's brain melt at the same time? That's how you do it. |
