What the F is that?
I agree... That artwork is horrible for the film...

I kinda like the first one, with the hint of both the S shield and the bat from the way they are positioned.  the second if WTF awful though.

I can't get into either one... The characters are just not drawn properly. They seem to be trying to be drawn like the Dark Knight Returns, but not quite getting there... (I did have problems with the way they were drawn in TDKR too though..)

Well, Gal Gadot is playing Wonder Woman.  She's been in the last few Fast & Furious movies.

Spoiler for Hiden:

She's pretty and everything, but I was really grooving on Olga Kurylenko.  Gal can play tough, but she doesn't have the same gravitas, IMO.

I'm sure she'll do fine, but I'm a little disappointed.

They cast the wrong actress from the Fast & Furious. Wonder woman is an Amazon warrior not a fashion runway model.

Yeah but good god is she hot. That scene with her in a bikini in Fast 5 gets me every time.

She is beautiful certainly but I must agree with some comments I have read that she lacks the muscular look I expect from Diana.  She isn't a swissle stick, she is a warrior princess.

I guess I see Wonder Woman having a bigger build

Does that mean no DC universe movies until 2016?

I guess the TV shows will lay ground work for the movie then, which I guess is not too bad an idea....Batman cameo on Arrow; Superman caught in a magic web in Constantine; Flash fighting parademons in Central City. Jim Gordon's relationship with Batman built up through Gothom for his chance to give Batman advice before "vs" Superman.   icon_biggrin

There was a recent rumor that they were going right into Justice League following BvS.  I'm going to guess that this delay is so that the two movies can be released closer to each other.

News reports are that Marvel's Ant-Man is taking over the vacated Batman vs Superman spot on the July 2015 release slate.

I don't really know what to think anymore. My gut feeling is this second movie is looking like too many characters and too much setting up of other possible spinoffs (Wonder Woman, Justice League). In other words, it sounds like Iron Man 2, which made a crazy amount of money but is not exactly beloved.

If (as some script rumors suggest, but they could be bupkus) in fact the film has Batman holding Superman accountable for the death and destruction of the first film, I think that's an intriguing take on things. Though imho, pulling Batman out of Gotham City and having him mess around in Metropolis makes as much sense as, well, putting Superman in Gotham. Then again, if you're setting up for future films, and other franchises, you probably would want to "mash up" heroes and their environments like that to show a larger DC world where a Justice League would make sense.

Of course, this is a new, gloomy Superman, so he could fit in GC a little easier.

I hope they do go with this idea.  It would be a great way to resolve issues some fans had with the first film.  Myself, I didnt have a problem with what happened in Man Of Steel.  The stakes were high enough that Superman had to be willing to do what it took to stop Zod.  Still it would be nice to see some consequences for what happened and Batman invoking his "no kill" moral code would be an interesting way to approach the issue.

Jesse Eisenberg Will Be Lex Luthor in 'Batman vs. Superman

Quote
Out of nowhere this afternoon, Warner Bros. Pictures has announced two new cast members for the recently delayed 2016 release of Batman vs. Superman, or whatever the sequel to last summer's Man of Steel will be called, and they are surprising to say the least. First off, The Social Network and The Double star Jessie Eisenberg has been set to play Superman's arch nemesis Lex Luthor and Die Hard with a Vengeance bad guy Jeremy Irons has been slated to play Bruce Wayne's trusty butler Alfred in the film from director Zack Snyder. These casting choices are out of left field, and neither name has been rumored for either role.

This movie is doomed. Eisenburg has the acting range of a snail.

might as well make it a trifecta of crap.

Jeremy Irons would at have made a better Lex.  Jesse, well, does the movie need a crappy side-kick?  it worked for Superman 3.  oh

I Love DC,I love Superman,I Adore Batman and want to get lassooed by Wonder Woman, but each week I get more and more disinterested with this project, and that really shouldn't be..it's a Superhero movie FFS!!!,I should be drooling as i wait, counting down the days etc etc

I think Jeremy Irons as Alfred could work, but that's about it...not really excited for anyone else who have been cast, was very interested when the Mark Strong as Luthor rumours were running about, but now...now i am in the 'maybe i will be surprised' category with all those who have been cast

Disclaimer: I've not yet seen Man of Steel, so this question comes from ignorance.

Has there ever been a story where Superman killing has come to a good ending?

I just watched the JLA animated arc on the Justice Lords, Injustice, etc. I think there was one about killing Zod in a pocket universe, but even that had some bad repercussions as I recall.

That's got to be a joke. The Human Torch is one thing, but casting Batman as African American would put the fanbois into a tornado sized shit storm.

The breathless reciting of a "site repeating another site's supposed reporting based on third hand rumor" elsewhere is that some villain "kills" Clark Kent in the movie. So I'm thinking Superman breaks his own neck.

Superman: "You've got to be stopped!"
Clark Kent: "But I'm you!"
Superman: "Hmmm... there's nothing else I can do!"
Clark Kent: "But I'm wearing a turtle neck sweater!"
*Superman wraps his hands around his own neck*
*CCCRRRRRAAAACKKKKKKKKK*
The End
*Cue the Hans Zimmer bongo drums*

You gotta admit -- it seems like something Zack Snyder would do!  saywhat icon_lol

I'm betting that report originated on April 1st.

Although the more I think about it, the more I would actually be happy if that was the case.  I'm a big fan of Elba and I feel he's a much better actor than Affleck.  I could see him pulling it off.

I've actually softened my hatred for Affleck for the role. Not that I think he's a brilliant actor or anything, but looks and attitude wise I think he could probably pull off a younger, cockier Bruce Wayne.

What finally changed my mind is that I started reading about Arkham Knight, restarting my Batman comics, etc. and I realized that as I was doing this I wasn't thinking about Bale's Batman anymore. I had moved on to other mediums and they were their own take on the character. And I was still enjoying them a great deal. I kind of had this "aha" moment when I realized that Batman vs Superman is its own entity. It exists in its own bubble, and Affleck's Batman doesn't have to adhere to Nolan's trilogy anymore than Nolan's trilogy had to adhere to Burton's or Schumacher's films. So why not give him a chance. If Clooney and Kilmer couldn't destroy my love for the Dark Knight, then I'm fairly certain Affleck can't either.
