obviously they are already planning for a sequel, and Snyder is already talking about it even though it's not official:

Quote
“I’m going to be a hundred percent honest with you, I haven’t yet gotten to speak to the studio about all these awesome details (because I’ve been overseas on the junket). So my hope is, when I get home I can sit down with everyone and it’ll be like ‘Okay, so what are we going to do?.. we need to do something…”

My prediction, based on the first film, is Supes will...
Spoiler for Hiden:
-Break Lex Luthor's neck
-Break Braniac's neck
-Break Perry White's neck when he yells at Clark for missing his blog update deadline
-Accidentally break Lois Lane's neck when he tries to "dip" her during a slow dance
-Basically, the film will be called, "Man of Steel 2: Neck Breaker" icon_razz

-Use his heat vision to burn what's left of Metropolis and Smallville to the ground so developers can start with a fresh slate.
icon_smile And keep in mind I actually kind of liked MoS. I kid because I care...

Boogaloo doesn't rhyme with 4, Weinstein Jr..  I was naming off the next sequel, not working on the entire future of the franchise.    Tongue

I do wonder what they'll name it. If they go with Superman "titles," then there's "Man of Tomorrow" and "Last Son of Krypton", which might have made more sense for this one. Or could, perhaps, the biggest film of 2016 be called "The Big Blue Boy Scout"?

Last Son of Krypton... not bad.

I feel like they should've held the Man of Steel title for the second (and hopefully best) film, to align with the Dark Knight. But dunno, maybe they'll pull out a cooler title.

OK, I got wood:

and a line that is inspiring the movie but does not mean that it will be an adaptation of the source material:

Quote
I want you to remember, Clark…in all the years to come…in your most private moments…I want you to remember…my hand…at your throat…I want…you to remember…the one man who beat you.

I personally think Superman needs to get things right first before doing a Superman/Batman movie..the story was not great by all means in Man Of Steel, and the last thing i want is Batman coming in and trying to cover up those cracks

a 2015 release date?

Quote
Snyder is co-writing the story with David S. Goyer, who will then pen the screenplay. Production is expected to begin in 2014, with an anticipated release date in Summer 2015.

Last Batman movie was fantastic,Man of Steel was dogshit...as said in my last post, bringing Batman into the fay will not cover up the work Superman still needs doing,we still need character development for Superman,we still also need a story that is not dumb as a bag of nails

its too soon to bring the two together, the new Superman universe needs to earn it first

I hate all this "DC Universe" thing.

Batman should be its own universe. Superman should be it's own universe.

I know comic book buffs will come swarming saying that Bats and Supes has been in one universe (almost) all along, but I don't give a shit; I don't read comics.

imho, The Dark Knight Rises suffered from the whole, "How do we top the previous film" syndrome, which seems to be hardest when doing a movie #3, but often #2 turns out overbaked as well. That's tripped up just about every summer blockbuster franchise one can name (going back to Star Wars and even Jaws), or even non-summer blockbusters (French Connection II for example).

TDKR I enjoyed pretty well as part of AMC's Dark Knight trilogy. When I saw it again without that context and fun event feeling, it was more "meh" and like everyone else, annoyances at various plot contrivances that made no sense.

Man of Steel I found OK though I think it's telling I had no interest in seeing it again (you guys know I see EVERY summer movie at least twice if I like it even a little bit). I didn't take my mom to see it because I think the overcomplicated flashbacks/flash forwards would confuse her.

So yeah I side with those feeling it's too early to draw another character into the mix. My advice would be, build up Clark Kent and his job, build up the relationship with Lois, tune down the violence a bit and make us care about the characters more, now that the origin junk's out of the way. If they pull in another super hero or pull in too many villains in one movie (something I'm afraid Marc Webb's 2nd Spidey movie is already in danger of doing), there's no room to develop Supes. Though who's to say Zak Snyder and David Goyer even care about that?

I've gotten hold of the plot summary for the follow up movie.
Spoiler for Hiden:
Batman: "I'm holding you accountable for the deaths of thousands of Metropolis citizens in your battle with...

*Superman breaks Batman's back*
*Superman burns Batman into ashes using heat vision*
*Superman urinates on Batman's ashes, scoops them up and deposits them into a cat's litter box*

Superman: "Who's next?"
Such a sad, soggy end.  icon_lol

It's a joke, right? I mean, Batman can barely outwit a super power-less murdering maniac (Joker) and he apparently (thanks to Rising's weak script imho) can't think of a way to outwit a mumbling mound of beefcake (Bane). So how exactly is any sort of battle with Superman sensible in any way? Unless Zak wants to bring back Supes' "allergy" (Kryptonite).

Yeah I know the comics found a way. I still think it's too early in the reboot franchise and too ridiculous. Though in the end, I really don't care enough to hyperventilate about it.

Aye, he's 32. I mean, if you wanted to reboot completely he's around the same age bracket as Bale was (31 in 2005). It's just from interviews, he really seems to have no interest in doing comic book films period.

My only casting thought is, don't get someone who drags in a ton of baggage from other movies. Bale was certainly known, and maybe infamous for American Psycho, but he really dragged in no perceptible baggage from other movies at that point. But if they go for someone late 30s/early 40s, it's harder to find someone who isn't more known by that age unless their career's a treadmill to nowhere to this point.

Though some numbnuts bring up Gerard Butler (simply because of his age, and because he worked on 300! with Snyder), if it wasn't for his Young Magneto duties likely being a conflict of interest, I might've suggested another 300 cast member Michael Fassbender, who's 36.

He's a great actor, he can certainly build the abs (300), he can play vicious characters, he can do a non-British accent when called for, has worked with Zak Snyder before, and obviously Fassbender has no reservations about comic book material.  icon_smile But, presumably unavailable.

Apparently, other fans agree  icon_smile
http://www.irishcentral.com/ent/Michael-Fassbender-tops-fan-poll-as-actor-to-play-Batman-next-218128941.html

Lastly, the only things Batman really needs are a sturdy codpiece to protect his crotch so Supes can't kick him there, and of course
Spoiler for Hiden:
... a sturdy neck brace.  icon_razz

Mark Strong Hints at playing Luthor

You may remember him best as Lord Blackwood in RDJ's Sherlock Holmes

Quote
Lex Corp was referenced in this summer's Superman reboot, Man Of Steel, and it was assumed that the infamous villain would make an appearance in the follow up. Yet Man Of Steel 2 is more than a sequel now, given that it's effectively become the Batman/Superman movie. So: is Lex Luthor still likely to appear?

Mark Strong has been mentioned with regards the role previously, for a number of obvious reasons, and the folks at Digital Spy asked him about the links to Lex Luthor in a recent interview. So what did he have to say? Well, he said "All I can say is... watch this space".

maybe just teasing and nothing come of it,but I wouldn't mind seeing him as Luthor
