hmm,quite interested,does sound like Escape from New York in Space,but rescuing the Presidents Daughter last film i saw Guy Pearce in was The Kings Speech he has kind of had a low profile for a few years after a promising start(well,L.A Confidential and Momento),i still know him best as Mike from Neighbours  I had to look up IMDB on where i had seen that girl before,or what i knew her from.....it was 'Lost',she played Shannon |

doubtful. The combination of a starring role for Guy Pearce and Luc Besson as a writer at least ensures a theater showing. whether or not it's good remains to be seen, but I think at the very least it will be a fun matinee. |

Even if it takes a nose dive in scenes other than the one's shown, it still seems to capture enough of the Escape from New York vibe to make it a good matinee choice on a rainy/snowy saturday. Pearce seems to be somewhat choosy when picking movies, so I'm hoping that holds true for this one.

Every preview makes it look more and more cheesy and goofy...
...which is perfectly fine with me. That's the same formula they used for Escape from New York and that still stands as one of my favorite films.
You can be cheesy AND entertaining. The transformers films haven't discovered that formula yet, though.

I saw this this afternoon and really enjoyed it. Fun movie. Great dialogue, good story. Just an enjoyable 90 minutes or however long it lasted.

That is pretty much correct for the film,i watched it last night It was fun but not just 'turn off our brain and enjoy' but dispose of brain and enjoy the special effects for the Bike Scene at the beginning were pretty terrible,but the rest of the SFX was fine It did seem to lose some of its charm in the last quarter but I would however like to see Guy Pearce take on this character again,looking at Box Office Mojo it cost $20 million to make and made $32 million in all ...which may not be enough to put a sequel out |
