Stallone is ready to get started on the next film in the series, and supposedly he as a new director lined up, Patrick Hughes.  for a while the rumor was he was trying to get Mel Gibson to direct, and he has said he has Wesley Snipes on board.

it would be cool if he could get all the actors whose characters survived the second film back, and with a new director maybe we could see Steven Segal added into the mix.  heck, if Gibosn won't direct maybe he can make an appearance; he could be the crazy bad guy this time around

I disagree. They are fun movies, especially for those of us that grew up in the 80s watching the original action movies.

These movies are so bad that they are good.  The fun thing is they totally play up the over the top style to the point of absurdity.  One of the best parts of Expendables 2 was the appearance of Chuck Norris.  It was so insanely over the top it was hilarious.  Throwing in a classic Chuck Norris joke was the icing on the cake.  If you want realistic action and a finely weaved plot, then look elsewhere.  If you enjoy cheesy B movie action with plot holes you can drive a tank through, this is for you.

Agreed, I got to watch Expendables 2 on my flight to France, and it made the flight rather enjoyable.  Had a blast watching it, and catching all the references to 80's flicks.

I grew up in the 80s, too. I just prefer my b-movies a little less self-parodying.

Jackie Chan in Expendables 3 talks

Jackie Chan confirms he's set to meet Sylvester Stallone about The Expendables 3, but seems less keen on Rush Hour 4...

In the midst of the Cannes Film Festival, Jackie Chan has been doing one or two interviews, and he's been chatting to Getty Images Entertainment. Talk turned to a pair of sequels he's been linked with, and it turns out that all the talk about The Expendables 3 has something to it, but that Rush Hour 4 is looking a longer shot.

Dealing with the latter first, Chan told Getty that "I think maybe not a Rush Hour 4. I think that maybe Chris Tucker and I will start another movie". He did add that "If the people still want Rush Hour 4 then okay, we'll do Rush Hour 4, but I think Chris and me start another series of films".

Truthfully, we could have lived without Rush Hour 2 and 3, but then we suspect may not be in the majority.

Looking more positive is his involvement in The Expendables 3. Chan admitted that "I would love to work with Stallone. I'm going to meet him and see what happens". But it's not a given that he'll be in the film. "I'm supposed to be in The Expendables 3, but at the time I am meant to be doing Chinese Zodiac. I cannot promise you anything, but let's see what happens".
