Went to see this today at the matinee.
Fun movie and not overly deep. Good 'turn off the brain and enjoy' flick. Travolta did a pretty decent job in it I thought. Quite a bit of action throughout and a few chuckling moments as well. I was trying to figure out where the other guy was from for a bit. Riley from National Treasure films.
I felt it was worth the matinee easily. Probably wouldn't have felt ripped off at full price either. I enjoyed it for what it was.

Just finished watching this. It was quite good - well for an action flick. It was funny, lots of shooting, some good chases. A solid "B" for the genre.
It only has 30% on rottentomatoes. Sometimes I wonder if reviewers understand the genre matters in reviews. Sure it isn't on the level of really great movies but it is solid for its area. It is like the review based upon movies overall rather than on what type of movie it is.

Well, how did it compare to something like Die Hard, Road Warrior, or Heat? All movies in the same genre... action does not really have to mean "turn off your brain."
I enjoy mindless summer blockbusters as well (loved the A-Team!!) but they deserve the crappy reviews they get.

If Die Hard is 100% on the "Action Movie Scale", due to memorable characters, good acting, exciting action scenes, and quality writing, From Paris in Love probably scores somewhere between 65-70%, I would think. I found Travolta's character fairly memorable, the action scenes were entertaining, the acting was solid, and the writing was decent (although probably doesn't hold up to a second viewing). Definitely worth a watchthrough, and not really deserving of a 30% on Rottentomatoes, imo.

I would agree with Malificent but I would give it more of a 80-85%.

I rented it from Netflix last week and would give it a solid B. The end was pretty predictable though.
