trailer for 6

in a couple of weeks the Diesel will flow again!  I'll wait a few seconds for the mental image to clear biggrin

can't wait, been re-watching the first 5 on blu ray.  apparently they're expecting this one to do so well that the 7th film starts production in August for a summer 2014 release.

Michelle Rodriguez let it slip that Jason Statham is planned for #7.  could be a fun diversion.

My 7 year old loves this series. He watches them non stop. So needless to say we will be there to see it in the theater. His obsession is all about the cars and the driving scenes.  I tolerate it for the "scenery" at the inevitable car parking lot party scene. Also, the one "weapons" chick in part 5 is pretty darn hot.

they're estimating that Fast 6 owned this weekend.  again it's only an estimate, and the second place movie, Hangover 3, is only estimated at $52 million.

What's the fast to furious ratio in this one?

Went and watched this with my 7 year old yesterday. It's safe to say they upped the action to all new levels of impossible in this one, but the movie is entertaining and it works. They actually successfully tied the story up from all 5 previous films in this one. With cameos from characters that I didn't expect to see.

They also set up part 7 by finally answering when the hell part 3 takes place.

Spoiler for Hiden:
Jason Stathom makes a cameo at the Hahn death scene in part 3. And I would say he is going to make one hell of a bad guy in part 7.

Saw this last week with my son.  Was expecting complete crap.  This movie delivered on all fronts.  It was actually really good.  I was very entertained and how they did the tie in's from every previous movie (yeah really) was pretty smooth.

the 7th film hasn't even started production and they're already looking for a villain for the 8th after Denzel Washngton turned down the part.

Yeah I read an interview somewhere where Diesel was saying that if they do part 7 it would be the first of an intended trilogy. Sort of like how part 4 was. Of course this interview took place before part 7 was green lit. Judging by the fact that these movies continue to make a TON of money I see no reason why part 7 won't make money as well, which means part 8 will be green lit soon enough.

Spoiler for Hiden:
I just wish that hadn't killed that hot Italian chick, Gina Gerano could have lived too, but at some point you gotta trim the cast down.

after the tragic event of the weekend, the studio is debating how to proceed with number 7.  They say they won't abandon the film, but it will be interesting to see how they work things out.  I do wonder what this might mean for 8 & 9, perhaps Lucas Black will get step into Walker's shoes?

Black would be my guess too since they already signed him to do the sequels and he was set up as the next great racer in Tokyo Drift. Now if he can just learn how to act.

film to be scrapped and started over?

Quote
The producers of “Fast & Furious 7” are considering scrapping the entire film and starting over in the wake of actor Paul Walker’s death mid-production, TheWrap has learned.

The nearly $200 million-budget production has been frozen in its tracks since the tragic death of Walker, one of the lead actors in the film, on Saturday. The production is more than halfway finished, but many of Walker’s key scenes remained to be shot.

Universal Pictures, the producers and director James Wan have been in constant consultation this week to decide on different options, according to an individual with knowledge of the conversations.

Because the studio is insured for unexpected losses such as this one, the cost of scrapping the production is not a central factor. The studio would likely be made whole on that cost.

One viable option would be to start over. One individual said they were considering making the movie without Walker’s character, Brian O’Conner. But another individual said that option was not under consideration.

finally saw 6 on blu ray; they were nice and even made the case fit in with the most recent rereleases of the other films.  pretty fun, if they hadn't had that post credit scene it could have been a fitting end to the series.  loved watching the catfights unibrow

They also had the tribute to Paul Walker play before the movie.  I assume that was streamed in place of the normal trailers.
