I think teaming up Egghead and King Tut would be perfect for #3.
Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dum were in Batman Begins, so I don't see why Egghead can't be in Batman 3! ??? How did I miss them? Which scene?

They weren't named, but it was through their cell in Arkham that the opening to the outside was created. They were the two fat, bald, round men watching impassively as the League of Assassins blow open the door to their cell, then blow open the wall to create the exit.

While I don't expect Nolan and Co. to take inspiration from a videogame (even a great one), I don't think it would be a bad thing to go from something as humongously large-scale like The Dark Knight to something more internalized and claustrophobic like Arkham Asylum as a main movie setting. But I don't know if that fits with his love for the IMAX format.

Robin Williams has said he would do Batman 3 in a second remember he was first choice for The Riddler, before Jim Carrey came along in the last films...and apparently was first choice for The Joker in Tim Burton's Batman as well as the rumours gather that Bats 3 will have Catwoman and The Riddler...no word on The Penguin though http://www.starpulse.com/news/index.php/2010/06/30/robin_williamsi_would_do_batman_in_a_sRumors over casting for Christopher Nolan's upcoming third superhero film have been rife ever since The Dark Knight, starring Heath Ledger as The Joker, hit cinemas in 2008 - with fans speculating over which characters will be re-introduced. Nolan is said to be considering bringing feline femme fatale Catwoman back for the new movie, along with The Riddler.
so what do you reckon? i love Robin Williams, but i think he may be a tad too old now.....but i am sure the Nolan brothers could come up with a decent storyline for an older Riddler

I think that if Nolan includes the Riddler it won't be as an over the top type villain like they had in mind for the Riddler when they were considering Williams for the part.

This. The Riddler in Batman Forever was a clown. In Nolan's world, he'd probably be more psychotic than funny.

The riddler was in many ways tamer than the joker though, just as disturbed, but not an out and out killer.
Similar to the Catwoman, who is more just a thief.
The two together in a movie would make a nice change of pace and present an even more interesting challenge to Nolan's version of batman.

I did remember being impressed by his bad-guy-acting skillz in Insomnia, even though the movie itself was just alright.

I wouldn't look for Nolan to do "stunt casting" (ala some of the dreadful earlier Batman films). He doesn't seem to work that way on Batman though for someone with a relatively short film career, he's gotten to work with an awful lot of big name actors. Heath Ledger had done some solid work but he wasn't a household name, and there was a lot of skepticism when he was initially announced. I suspect when some villain casting is finally announced, it'll meet the same skepticism, probably a lot of it from people who questioned Heath Ledger's choice as The Joker back then. It wouldn't surprise me if Nolan went with another young actor who's done promising work but hasn't maybe gotten to do a role where he can really "let go." Maybe Joseph Gordon-Levitt ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0330687/)? Who seems to have a good part in Inception and whose smile can seem eerily like Ledger's. All the hyperventilation over casting of this, that and the other thing seems pointless. A lot of handsome actors have the charisma of a lump of coal, and sometimes actors with forgettable TV work bios, or nothing impressive on their movie resume can turn their careers around performing one well-written character.

I would hardly say that Joseph Gordon-Levitt hasn't had his chance to "let go"; he's been in a number of good roles in smaller films.

Maybe Hewitt can be the Joker's illegitimate son. He'll become the nefarious villain known as... Joker Jr.Nah. Sounds too much like a Burger King sandwich. "I'll have a Joker Jr. please, with cheese." "Do you want to upgrade the side to onion rings?" Since Nolan's brother has supposedly already worked out a preliminary script, I guess it's pointless to speculate on what it's about. To me, the environment canvas for the first two films was so huge, I'd be tempted to take the third movie in another direction. Maybe set it in a phone booth. Oh wait, they don't have those anymore. Dammit!

fwiw, the Gordon-Levitt-as-Riddler rumor seems to be gathering just a little bit of steam... The Riddler in BATMAN 3? JGL "Interested?"http://www.batman-on-film.com/BATMAN-3_news_riddler-in-B3-JGL-interested_7-21-10.htmlAccording to a report on FIRSTSHOWING.NET, “a reliable inside source with a studio casting grid” says that The Riddler is listed as a character in BATMAN 3.
Casting grids are used by the film industry to keep everyone who might be associated with a film in the loop on a project’s progress. Nobody could really one-up Ledger's Joker performance, and Nolan has said as much. I guess what you maybe do is have a main villain on a different wavelength (maybe quietly sinister instead of scenery-chewing) so a third film has its own tone. I can't really see a Riddler in a green sportcoat and a derby hat with a question mark working too well on film. So if they really use him, I'd be curious bout the outfit.

My first thought was "That's what she said!" and then my second was Batman as some sort of bread dough. I guess though when one movie makes $1B+ worldwide, it makes sense to keep the title pretty intact for the followup.

You are correct, sir. Lt. James Gordon: "Because he's the hero Gotham deserves. But not the one it needs right now. And so we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A dark knight. A Pillsbury Doughboy TM who will eventually rise!" When I see "TDK," I keep thinking about the cassette brand I always bought in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Any way, I trust the film will be about Bats restoring his reputation. While I'll always cherish Ledge's Joker performance, I kinda hope the third (and presumably last under Nolan) film gives Christian Bale some meatier stuff to do as an actor and isn't another comic book film where the villain is twice as interesting as the lead hero character.

Not likely, granted, since it'll just remind us he's not around.

I could see Talia or Selina Kyle. Either one would be fine so long as they never cast Anne Hathaway. As for Tom Hardy, my money says he's playing Hugo Strange which would make a lot of sense considering the nature of the series as well as Nolan's fascination with the psychological aspects of Batman.
