From the Academy Award-nominated team of director Pete Docter ("Monsters, Inc."), and co-director Bob Peterson, comes "Up," a comedic adventure taking off May 29th 2009:

Carl Fredricksen spent his entire life dreaming of exploring the globe and experiencing life to its fullest. But at age 78, life seems to have passed him by, until a twist of fate (and a persistent 8-year old Wilderness Explorer named Russell) gives him a new lease on life. "Up" takes audiences on a thrilling journey where the unlikely pair encounter wild terrain, unexpected villains and jungle creatures. When seeking adventure next Spring -- look "Up."

Doesn't look that great but since it is Pixar's you know it will be anyways. I think it looks whimsical and fun.

So far only Cars has let me down.  I'm sure this will be great, too!

I'll have to see more before I make a decision, but I really wish it was was The Incredibles 2 they were advertising.

Umm dude.  Check out toy catalogs this year.  Targets toy ad which was in this Sunday's paper had a ton of Cars toys and that is what 3 years after the movie came out?!  Cars is by fartheir biggest merchandising.  While I love them, and they have enough clout with Disney to put out stuff like UP!, but they are also a company and Cars 2 will probably make them more money than any other movie they have done.

As Farley posted, you're not really their target demographic.  My two boys LOVE the movie Cars.  Love it.

I liked Cars.  I saw a double feature of Ratatouille and Meet the Robinsons and I liked the latter more.

I have yet to be disappointed by Pixar.  I enjoyed Cars, I loved Ratatouille (probably because I am passionate about cooking as well), The Incredibles was fantastic, Toy Story and Toy Story 2 are absolute classics, hell, even A Bug's Life is great fun.  Pixar has yet to give me a reason to doubt their talent.  I have yet to find another animation company with the same level of skill in storytelling.  While some animated features look absolutely stunning, most lack the kind of substance I have come to expect from Pixar.

I'm in for UP!  No question about it.

I've been waiting for a trailer for a long time.  I don't know what took so long, as usually they have a trailer up with their current movie (ie having a trailer for The Incredibles before Finding Nemo, and a trailer for Cars before The Incredibles etc.).  That's the only thing that worries me, frankly.  I wonder what the delay was.

you're not the only one...i think A Bug's Life is really underappreciated and ranks near the top of my favorites list for Pixar's films.  i think The Incredibles is my favorite though...all around fantastic film icon_cool

I didn't care for Cars very much the first time I watched it. My daughter was watching it last month and for whatever reason it just clicked with me the second viewing. So that means there isn't a single Pixar movie that I don't like. Toy Story and Toy Story 2 are my fav. by far but the level of goodness that they pump out each time is unreal.

Ratatouille was the only pixar movie I didn't care for; However, after seeing the absolutely brilliant Wall-E (Among the best movies released last year, and the best sci-fi movies in a long time) I'm looking forward to seeing up. Definitely catching it in the theatre; probably not til next weekend tho.

I've heard a few say they didn't care for Ratatouille.  Maybe it's becaue I love to cook and am somewhat of a hobby chef, but I absolutely loved it.  But I would agree that Wall-E was fantastic (although I'd argue that the first 15 or 20 minutes were the pinnacle of the film), and Up just looks even more original than past Pixar offerings.

Meet the Robinsons was better than Ratatouille.  I saw them both at a double feature.

Up looks fantastic and I will be at the theater to see it in short order after release.  My sister is all agog about it as well.

This will be the one and only movie I see in theaters this summer.  While the premise doesn't excite me as much as some of the other Pixar films, but I have full confidence that it will be another stroke of brilliance.

That clip with the dog had me rolling.   icon_lol

The initial trailers left me cold on this one but the new trailers have me excited to see it.  It's Pixar so I would have seen it regardless.

I, on the other hand, can't think of anything I want to see this summer *except* Up. It's the barren movie summer for me. Time to catch up on my Netflix list.

I loved Ratatouille too.  Last year, I skipped Wall-E in the theaters, and then loved it on BR.  I learned my lesson to never doubt Pixar.  This will be one of the few movies I go see in the theater this year.
