or, as AICN called it, Trans4mers.  needless to say, T3 made big money so there are plans being made for T4, and there's already rumors floating around on who may be directing the fourth (and possibly fifth) installment:

I know, crazy isn't it? biggrin

for awhile there were rumors that Jason Statham would take over for Shia, but would he be willing to be upstaged by giant robots?

What can you say? Money talks. I think he did a good job with T3, so I don't hate on Bay anymore. Bring on 4!!!!

If they killed the kiddie parts of the movie, the "Black-dude" transformers and witty smart-ass jokes that arent funny, the movies could be great.

As it is, they are mostly annoying (to me).

Weren't the kids a pretty integral part of the cartoon that it's based on? Never really got to see it much at all as we had all of 2 stations where I grew up but it seemed that way from what I did catch.

Humans in general played a very minor role.  The robots themselves actually had personalities and were more than a backdrop to the story!

When Razgon said kiddie parts, though, I think he was referring to fart jokes and robot testicles.

Aye, thats what I meant - thats a personal preference of course, but imagine Lord of the Rings in the same eh...immature /kiddish style, and you'd have a totally different movie.

I think folks are experiencing Stockholm Syndrome when it comes to the Transformers franchise.  We've been held captive by Bay's mediocre to horrible (skewing more towards the latter in my opinion) vision of the characters that many of us feel it's actually okay.  If someone with the talent of a del Toro or Nolan got hold of the series though?

...well...it would be like leaving Vault 13 for the first time.

Chris Nolan would be awesome.

I think del Toro would actually do the better job of the 2, but heck either of them with the directing reigns would be so much better than Bay.

If they edited the first 3 that way we would get 3 minutes of gratuitous sexy shots of the woman du' jour, 4 minutes of massive explosions and 5 minutes of Shia screaming like a little girl.  We may want to cut that down to 7 minutes

To be more serious - There are plenty of examples of movies where supernatural, scifi or otherwise non-normal storylines and plot can be produced in a more mature way, without resorting to cheap thrills/frills. The best recent example would be Lord of The rings - Imagine that for a moment done by Mr Bay? Plucky hobbits doing danceoff battles and dissing the black riders?

All I am saying is - The material could be awesome, if you treat it the right way!

I've been reading the two new parallel Transformers comic book series that just started up, More Than Meets the Eye and Robots in Disguise, and even just in the first two issues the story and characters are leaps and bounds more interesting and complex than those in the Bay universe.

I'm pretty sure shia labeouf stopped posting here after Razgon refused to stop addressing him as shia la-goof, and megan fox followed soon after when zekester figured out how to PM board members.

here's one of them saying he won't be back, and guessing others won't.  they say they don't even have a story yet.  I imagine a easy way to write off the previous cast is to do a time jump like they did with Transformers the Movie.
