I think the big excitement for those of us who hung on until the end is to find out if Elisha will do a nude scene if Jack gets a happy ending (in a non-Asian massage parlor kind of way). |

I think a movie version of 24 could get rid of most of the silliest clichés from the series ("Yay, we finally found an informant that can reveal the plan... oh no, he died!" and "Oh no, there is a traitor at CTU!") simply because they don't have to pad the story to fit into 24 episodes. Ideally it would become something closer to the Die Hard movies (which already are pretty close to 24 in many ways). |

This. While I don't think it was "awful" it was definitely done with a forthcoming movie in mind. The story as it stands is incomplete. As a 24 fan, I NEED this movie for closure. |

That was fast. The movie languished in limbo for years, and this goes from rumor to announcement in a few days. I'm hoping they just kind of forget the "Jack becomes a mass murderer" ending of the series and just go for a fun action series.
