[HEROES] - Season Finale

Tonight IS the night.

I am so excited to see how they end this season.  If they just give me some type of REAL conclusion to all the build up, I will be thrilled.  (of course, a Peter/Sylar showdown wouldn't hurt either.)

Well I was rather dissappointed to realize that Sci-Fi's Marathon played Saturday started with episode 8. I was distraught that i'd missed the last half of the first season and didn't know some of the characters. Yet, I plodded forth all the way up to the exploding-man being consumed and then realized that they started season 1 AFTER that.

So, now I have to start all over. I'll watch all the episodes, in the proper order this time, and probably have to wait for the next marathon to catch tonight's episode. Just the way it is.

By the way, the ending is that Sylar trips over the curb and impales himself on a "Green" activist's picket sign.

They need to at least finish the "stop the nuke" plotline.

It would be interesting if it still goes off. Fitting with themes from the earlier episodes that even though you can change some things, the major events still occur.

I skipped out watching the trailer so have no clue about what it showed.

If he hears a sudden gunshot from behind he can turn and stop the bullets in mid-air before they hit him, but when Hiro teleports in and announces himself, Sylar just stands there like a big dope and gets stabbed?  Despite the fact that he saw the comic book and knew Hiro was going to try to stab him?

Yikes, that was *lame!*

It was OK but seemed like just a normal episode, not the finale. Especially since it was only 1 hr. Stupid misleading commercials. I was thinking it was going to be a slow build up to a crazy last hour.

This show and all others still drive me nuts with how they do the following:

When the bad guy is down, kill him! Just chop of his freaking head to make sure he is dead. And before that, if his back is to you, just stab him in it sneakily. Don't announce your presence. He is bad, its OK to not be chivalrous.

He not only knew Hiro was going to try and stab him, he knew he was going to pull it off.  Better to take the hit, play dead, and scurry away while everyone is busy looking at nuke boy, no?

Nice to hear that they'll be continuing the graphic novels throughout the summer.  The wait for Volume 2 won't be quite as painful.

Well, if I'd written that final scene....

...Hiro would have teleported in and announced himself.  Sylar would have turned to attack him and Hiro would have blinked out, only to reappear an instant later...with another version of Sylar from the past.  Several months in the past, in fact: the same sad, pathetic watchmaker that the current Sylar has been so desperate to leave behind forever.

Face to face with his miserable, disoriented self, Current Sylar would have let his guard down, and when as he turned away, a *second* Hiro would have stabbed him through the chest.  The first Hiro would vanish (returning Past Sylar to his own time) and return a few moments before he left (as the one doing the stabbing).  *Then* he would have been flung into the distant past by the dying Sylar.

Not only is this a *much* cooler use of Hiro's powers, but they could even have worked in a scene establishing that this momentary encounter with himself -- a much stronger, more confident version of himself -- is one of the things that started Sylar down his dark path to begin with.  The causal loop that accidentally started everything....

Hiro stood up and saw that he was being approached by group of samurai garbed in ancient Japanese armor.  They stopped a distance from him, loaded arrows into their bows, and raised them in his direction.

Then, over the hill on the opposite side of Hiro, a lone samurai rides over the hill.  His face is covered, but it's clearly Hiro's father.  Hiro is too far away to realize this, but swears softly to himself over his predicament.

Seems no one died cept maybe Nathan.

I too wondered why Peter did'nt just fly away.

Maybe Nathan took him up real high then dropped him and flew away.

I feel sad for Nathan now. They build him up to be an asshole then he saves everyone. I hope he is still alive.

Hiro in the past. Should prove fun. I told the wife "hey what if Hiro himself is the warlord his dad read to him about". Then that solo warlord comes over the hill and I think no maybe thats him. Then I say OMFG what if it is Hiro's dad!!? An immortal?

Just what was the old black guy's powers? He could see and hear Peter in the dream?

I liked that Sylar's last vision was his own death / laying there semi dead

The illusion girl who kidnapped Micah. She hit the blonde really hard and I wondered if she had super strength too but when the blonde knocked her out and the illusion wore off it was a guy laying there. I remember him/her saying something about what they really looked like. I was thinking maybe she was really fat. Turns out to be a guy LOL. I asked the wife to confirm what I saw on the DVR and she agreed it was a guy

This episode was rather weak.  Sylar surviving is rather weak and they just need to kill him off.  There is no guarantee that Peter or Nathan is alive or dead.  I know ambiguity is a trade mark in comics, but leaving  so many loose ends just seems weak


The actor playing Hiro deserves a Oscar!   He is awesome

I'm pretty sure he let himself get stabbed. It's what he saw in his future so he let it happen. And since he escaped right after he probably planned it that way.

I hope Sylar's alive and comes back better than ever for season 2.  I think he's a great bad guy.  And if this is going to be any kind of good superhero show (which of course it is) - they need arch enemies.  Arch enemies that die ain't exactly living up to their end of the bargain at being a proper arch enemy.  Meanwhile, as much as I love Peter, homeboy needs to go to fighter training school or something, cause Sylar is seriously kicking his ass up and down New York every time they meet.

Also looking forward to Season 2.

I thought the final battle was on the weak side, but overall a pretty good finale.  It would have been cool to see some more teamwork going against Sylar.  I didn't want to see Sylar go out like a chump, so I'm hoping he survived. 

I was also wondering why Peter just didn't fly up and away.

I agree with the concensus that the episode was anticlimactic. The biggest problem with the first season is that by the end they were juggling too many characters and weren't able to provide a satisfactory ending to any of the sub-plots. All the characters in the show are compelling enough that they deserved more screen time than they got.

Heh, hard to tell if she's a guy or not because you can't see her boobs due to the black shirt and odd angle eh?

Plenty of other clues as to her gender there, but just the boobs you know. 

The girl has shoulders admittedly and well toned arms, but she's got hips, waist and legs.
