  It does deserve a bigger screen version, though, and most definitely not a Lucas version.

Any episode in which someone insults Art or doesn't take him seriously enough is a winner for me.  The bemused look of "You REALLY don't know who you're talking to, do you?" that appears on his face never fails to make me laugh.  Raylen also had a great look on his face when the FBI agent tried to attack Art as well.

Beyond that, I also loved the local lawman's almost admiration of Raylen's bad-assedness.  I'm also finding Marshall Gutterson's dry sense of humor to be more and more hilarious.

it wasn't just you.  the budget for the show isn't that large, I'm guessing...and most of it probably goes to stars and writers.  I'm fine with the occasional cheesy special effect as long as the acting and dialog continues to be as great as it has been.

Quarles was "Disarmed" that was the best line of the night.

All in all it was a good finale, but not as good as last season IMHO.

Kind of glad they kept Limehouse alive, he should make for an even more interesting character next season, now that we know just how devious he is. Also did anyone else take it that he sent his right hand man (can't remember his name) away to try and keep him out of trouble, rather than for bad intentions?

I loved this season just as much as the prior ones.  They keep the level of quality on this show high.  But the best bit was Quarles' high pitched giggling while yelling "It's a piggy bank!".  

...oh, and Arlo rules.    The man is far more clever than folks give him credit for.

a CGI blood spurt?  they couldn't have sprung for fake blood?  that bit made The Holy Grail's Black Knight disarmament look like Stan Winston's work.  sure, I know they have a budget, but c'mon.

other than that I liked the way things ended.

I had a strong feeling Quarles wasn't going to make it because McDonoughr got cast in a pilot for a new Darabont show.  Wynn seems to have as many lives as Dickie does.

My wife and I cracked up when Quarles tried to reach for his gun arm and Raylan just moved it away from him in slow motion. I don't know why, but it did.

Part of the charm of Ralyen is the fact that he BELIEVES he's badder than everyone around him.  Unfortunately, as we've discovered in people like Boyd and the fighter, that's not always true.  So I would say his biggest flaw is his ego...and it's gotten him into trouble on more than one occasion.  He tends to underestimate those he shouldn't.

Justified Gets a Fifth Season Pickup That Will Air on FX in January 2014

NEW YORK, March 28, 2013 – The critically-acclaimed drama series Justified, starring Timothy Olyphant, will continue to run on FX. Season five begins production this fall and will air on FX in January 2014. Season four is currently airing, with the season finale slated to air next Tuesday, April 2, at 10:00 PM ET/PT. To date, season four is pacing to be Justified’s most-watched season ever.

Developed by Graham Yost and starring Timothy Olyphant, Justified is based on the works of crime novelist Elmore Leonard, including Leonard’s short story “Fire in the Hole.” The series co-stars Walton Goggins, Nick Searcy, Jacob Pitts, Erica Tazel and Joelle Carter. Olyphant is the man.  If you liked him in Deadwood, you'll like him in this.
