Yeah, that's the concept.

TRAILER

Although I was originally given the impression that Rogen and Franco would be playing themselves, that turns out not to be the case.  Still, looks good.

I saw the trailer for this during the Daily Show. My immediate thought was what the reaction would be if another country made a comedy about trying to kill the sitting US president.

excellent point.  I wonder what NK news is going to make of this.

the trailer wasn't bad.  worth a viewing on netflix, assuming NK doesn't nuke us in retaliation or something.

Is a faux documentary any better?

With these sorts of movies that specifically target one actual country and person, I always kind of have a small thought in the back of my head like "do you think some of their funding was funneled from intelligence operations?"  Because really, this is the sort of thing that implants ideas of other countries into "the youth of today".  Now I'm off to polish my foil hat...

Also, I'm not sure I would go so far as to call this a "FILM".  slywink

I guess I saw the bracketed information as an overall category that whatever comes after falls under. "Film" is a category, "Movie" would be a specific item under that category.

May have just been a quirk of my mind for the day, though.

North Korea has threatened to go to war with the US unless it blocks the release of a film about Kim Jong-un.

However, despite saying the release of the Seth Rogan film The Interview would be an "act of war" it is believed that the dictator would still watch the film.

A foreign ministry spokesman did not mention the film by name, but it is believed to be The Interview from his description.

He was quoted by KCNA News Agency as saying: "Making and releasing a movie on a plot to hurt our top-level leadership is the most blatant act of terrorism and war and will absolutely not be tolerated."

He added that there would be "merciless" retaliation saying: "If the US administration allows and defends the showing of the film, a merciless counter-measure will be taken."

Nic Cage has already sent his head shots to the NK film board.
