just announced:  Bond 50, all 22 007 movies on blu ray in one collection, with some of them being available on BVD for the first time.  I've always wanted to have the complete collection, and since I only have the two most recent films this is kind of a no brainer for me since Amazon has it for $199.99.  sure, it sucks if you already have a bunch of them (no individual releases have been announced yet) but I thought I'd give any Bond fans a heads up.

on a side note, holy crap it's been 50 years?

we have single Blu-Ray Bond Movies over here,as i was looking at them the other day, they also did box sets but with say 5 or 6 movies, and they weren't like all the Sean Connery years or all the Roger Moore years the box sets had Goldfinger mixed with Tomorrow never Dies and Licence To Kill(or something like that, you get the idea)...but if you say some are here for the first time,it may be right,i didn't see if every Bond movie was on the shelf,so i wasn't aware there were some missing

I know its to catch up on the Bond films before Skyfall is released, but i thought it would be better to wait until that was released on BR and include that, instead of a 'complete' box set being incomplete in just a few months after buying it,especially how Bond films have not got a regular schedule for releases,it could be ages again until we have Bond 24..but then again it would be 51 years before the new BR was out  icon_confused
(The Amazon link has it down for October 1st)

Just found this on that Amazon link, its a big picture so its in the spoilers, its a picture of the box set anyway
Spoiler for Hiden:

it's priced as £89.99 for us,which is a lot less than 200 dollars..currency converter works it out as $130,and we also have V.A.T. which is 20%

What's funny is, though Lazenby is a little cardboard, I think On Her Majesty's Secret Service has one of the best stories of any Bond film (until maybe Casino Royale).

I also really enjoyed what Dalton was trying to do with Bond.  It was something the series needed, IMO.

But, yeah, neither of those guys had any impact in people's minds.

I think you have just said pretty much what i think,OHMSS had a great cast, story and even a Cool Theme Tune that rivalled the 007 theme, just Lazenby was a bit meh,not as bad as people make him out but you still feel that if Connery was still in place it would of been a cracker of a Bond Movie

and i loved the gritty direction of Licence to Kill(remember Felix being fed to the sharks)and Robert Davi as the bad guy even though it pretty much flopped in the States, but that whole legal issue that arose after the film meant we didn't see anymore Dalton because it was 6 years later for Goldeneye,it would of been interesting the direction they would of gone after Licence to Kill had all that shit not come about

Skyfall notwithstanding, I'm interested in this.  Of course, I was interested in LotR Blu-Ray and I haven't bought those yet either.

The sound upgrade on the LoTR blu rays was what sold me on getting the set.  It's like night and day from the original release.

not a fan of the slide in disc holding system they're using:

I was hoping for something with the 'pop in' holders, like regular blu ray cases.  I'll probably just grab 21 blu ray cases and use those instead; that way I can store them with the rest of my BR collection.

on the plus side the collection is down to $187 on Amazon thumbsup

[edit] this one would be perfect:

dammit, now it's down to $150, half off.  I decided to hold off to see if it fell in price during the holidays but 50% off......

still, I got the 'do what you want to do response' when I mentioned buying it, so maybe I should wait.

I thought I forfeit that when I watched The Secret Circle biggrin

on the plus side, when I get the Wii U I can play the 'well I did skip the Bond 50 collection and saved 150 bucks there, so technically it's only costing me 200 bucks'.

I was looking this up on Amazon and Disc 23(the same which is at the top of CKs quote) which is full of special features says its is for Region B only...i had to look up what Region B was(Its Europe,Africa,Middle East,New Zealand and Australia),didn't know they had changed it from Region 2 with DVDs

Just wondering why it says that,if the disc is also available for at least Region A
I've checked Amazon.com,and the 23rd disc is still listed

the set also contains an opening slot for Skyfall(which i was unaware of)

So frustrating...I bought these:

http://www.amazon.com/James-Bond-Blu-ray-Collection-Another/dp/B001CXYDO8/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1348434628&sr=8-6&keywords=james+bond+blu-ray

I got the first and second box set.....and then they screwed us.  I've never been able to get the last two box sets, so I'm stuck with half a box set that I can't do anything with.  :/

Watched Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace with the gf this week, her first complete viewings of any Bond film. She didn't dislike them, but she wasn't too impressed. Ah, well. I enjoy them and there are some that I haven't ever seen of the '70-80s films, so I've got plenty of stuff to watch. I just need to get some actual cases so I don't destroy them in removing them from the books.
