I think I'll be checking this out. Sort of like "Ringer" with a sci fi twist where the person assuming someone else's life finds out she's actually a clone, and not necessarily the only one.

I hope we get this in the UK,as BBC UK have about 3 programmes i watch nowadays(its rubbish!!),gone are the great days of the 70's and 80's when the BBC used to produce great shows one after the other for the fun of it.

I found a trailer for you

So the BBC is producing shows they only air in the US? That's pretty ironic.

Ha...kind of

BBC Worldwide is separate from BBC UK

BBC worldwide is commercial and was set up in 1995,BBC America was formed in 1998 through 'Worldwide' which operates the channel

BBC UK has no commercials(but they have started product placing)

The Normal BBC in the UK is paid by British TV License, which you HAVE to pay, like a tax, which is why i am pissed off that there is so little i like on the channel nowadays, and have no understanding why we have to pay so much(the most expensive on the market)for BBC DVDs

Perhaps the License fee was used back in 1995 to set up BBC Worldwide, but its commercial,so BBC America will pay its own way

I believe Orphan Black is Canadian production picked up by BBCA

Is this the first show you have had on that channel that wasn't directly from BBC UK?

I really don't know. Do they have Ripper Street in the UK?  I always think its funny that they show Star Trek TNG on it because it has like one British person.

Haven't watched this yet but watching a commercial during Doctor Who reminded me that there is another original show that airs on BBCA that does not air on BBC: Copper, which was created by Tom Fontana (Oz/Homocide).

Watched it.  It was not great.  Too cliche, though the sex scene was a bit more explicit than most american TV so theres that.  Ill give it a few episodes to establish itself but it needs to get better.

I kinda liked it. Particularly the fact that it didn't try to explain the whole clone thing in the first episode. Compare that to US TV shows that either have a monologue explaining stuff in the intro or moving at breakneck speed trying to establish the cloning backstory with lots of talking and flashbacks. In fact, I'm willing to bet there will little to no flashbacks for any of the characters - which would be refreshing for a sci-fi show.

A Pew Research Center poll found nearly half of Americans hold the false belief that TARP was passed under President Obama, while only 34 percent know it originated under Bush.
"Oh yeah?" Bush replied. "50% of the people were wrong."

I agree the first episode was not great. For me it was the fact that the characters were not immediately very likable - you didn't have much sympathy for the main girl until the end of the episode, and the stereotypical gay friend was, well, stereotypical. It was funny seeing Far Cry 3 guy, though.

I am curious to see episode 2 though, now that the main premise of the show was finally revealed at the very end of episode 1 (the clones).

Yeah thats pretty much how I saw it.  The female lead is actually a horrible person, so Im sure this will be a tale of redemption.  The stereotypical gay friend even showed a total lack of sympathy and complete disdain for the lead characters actions and hes her bestest friend.  How are we supposed to care about what happens to her?  Shows of this nature need a few episodes to really get established so Ill give it a while but I really hope it gets better.

Anyone else keeping up with this? Getting pretty interesting.

Tatiana Maslany is quite good playing all the different characters. The bit where she had to play one of the clones impersonating one of the other clones was pretty funny. I didn't realize she wasn't British. I thought that was the only reason it was on BBCA. Maybe they should change it to CTVA.

Spoiler for Hiden:
How many shows can boast showing someone getting their tail cut off?

Wait a minute, the guy on the show who I assumed had to be British isn't British either!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FL5GTxuuckk

There's no British people on this BBC show!
