I have a bad feeling about this....

So ever since I was diagnosed with TBI a few years back, I've been suffering from phantom smells....in the form of cigarette smoke. I've never took it seriously before since in the past it just happened maybe 2-3 times a week. Buy now during the last month I've been smelling strong cigarette smoke daily, about 3-4 times a day. It is so infuriating, so I scheduled to see a specialist next month about this issue.
Does anyone here have any experience with this or have any insight? Thanks in advance.

I actually get that same issue from time to time Kato and yes mine smells like cigarettes.  Ive never had a TBI or any other head trauma other than a possible concussion here or there playing high school football. I have had numerous CT's, MRI's, Pet scans, EEG's etc.  Never could find anything.  While my symptoms only happen a one or two days a week and sometimes one or two days every couple weeks when they do hit it is a very strong odor.  Thankfully it doesnt tend to last more than 30 minutes or so for me.  I hope they can come up with something for you.

Good luck man.  I didn't know such a condition existed.  I imagine it sucks pretty bad.

Not an urban myth. In fact, we have commercials about it.

huh, over the past few months I've been getting the same thing, a cigarette smoke smell in the house, but didn't think anything of it.  I just thought it was my imagination since I do have some smokers in the family and it's a smell I can easily imagine.  any chance your issue could be something like that?

Exactly like that CeeKay. It happens in the most unlikely places. Like right now, the cigarette smell is so strong I'm having trouble sleeping. Every time it happens I ask my wife or kid if they smell smoke, but they just look at me like I'm crazy
