(And, despite my personal love for the man's music, Bob Dylan's entire 60's output gets classified here as well, since I know MANY people that would sacrifice a body part not to hear that nasally drone ever again.)

It's time to unleash the hounds here.

You see annoying songs, much like bad songs, come and go.  Every Mambo #5, Macarena, MMM Bop, Rico Sauve...

Leave Gerardo out of this.

my dad's GF has what i consider to be one of the worst pieces of horrid musical vomit as her 'calling in' song, you know, the one that plays in your head when you call her.  to make matters worse, my dad has one too, and he never even has his phone on him when he gets home, so you have to call her to get a hold of him.

what is this pile of garbage you ask?  i'd tell you, but i have been very successful getting it wiped out of my head today and wouldn't dare thinking about it.  it's one of those "i'm coming out as a lesbian" theme songs you hear plastered on easy listening radio trashcans (and their commercials).  now there's a genre worth wiping out wholesale.

Here it is, the song that will stay in your head for days:

"Get out of my dreams, get into my car."

And the sad part is, the reason it sticks in your head is the music video. The guy playing the saxophone riff in the middle of the chorus, standing in a car wash, that's what gets me every time. And the song isn't that bad.

Also, Billy Ocean did the english language a disservice by choosing to not pick a single pronunciation for "Carribean" in Carribean Queen. He slams both pronunciations together.

Random fact: Cannibal has the same lingusitic root as Carribean.

LOL,i loved that Billy Ocean song icon_confused,,but yeah, like most vids in those days the video was a bit too much

i have to add, that i thought Roxy Music's(or Bryan Ferry, not sure) version of John Lennon's Jealous Guy was horrendous

oh,and apparently This Video killed the Radio star(The Buggles)..the first video ever to be shown on MTV saywhat

not sure if you have 'Mika' over in the states yet,he has had a few hits here in the UK now but one of his songs he brought out was so catchy it drove me nuts

Mika-Love Today

i know i am gonna be singing this again all day now icon_evil

oh,and lets never...ever ..forget to add the whole catalog of Spice Girls songs to this list

I love Mika. He brings out my inner gay disco queen.

So as not to derail the thread, I humbly submit:

Let's Hear It For The Boy. This song literally makes me nauseous.

How about any song that got played on the radio by Smash Mouth.  Talk about over exposure.  Walking on the Sun and Rock Star are the two that come to mind right away.

I always thought that somebody should hook up The Proclaimers with Vanessa Carlton. That way neither one would have to walk the full 1,000 miles, but could meet halfway. Or perhaps they could talk to Oleta Adams about the best way to travel the distance.

Little Miss Can't Be Wrong was better than Two Princes.

Oh, I'd have to say that were I to name some of my least favorite songs, they'd be:

La Isla Bonita - Madonna
Stand - REM
(I Saw) The Sign - Ace of Base
I Love This Bar - Toby Keith
I would do anything for love (but I won't do that) - Meatloaf
Everything I do (I do it for you) - Bryan Adams
She Drives Me Crazy - FYC
West End Boys - Pet Shop Boys
I don't wanna miss a thing - Aerosmith
The Fugees

And for lyrics, Spoonman is a piece of trash.

LOL,sorry i just saw Ron and Ck's posts about Yellowkings comment and then saw it in CKs signature...must of missed that...i am all giggled out now

that Bryan Adams song i didn't mind, but it was another that got pumped into my head at every opportunity from radios stations etc,it was at number 1 here in the UK for about 17 weeks i think

can't think of Stand by REM,prolly know it though

and yeah The Sign now reminds me of that South Park episode when the guy gets thawed out and they recreate everything for him from his time,so that song was always playing

have we had Mmm Bop yet?

yeah, 'the sign' is probably one of the worst songs of all time.  tell me you have that on you to torture terrorists or something

and now it's wormed it's way into my head.  thank you and good night, i'm off to go kill myself with a screwdriver and a hammer as that's the only way you can prevent this from looping in your head.  sorry grim, but it's a horrible song, just horrible.

I am going to come right out and say it. I like Ace of Base, including The Sign. I've got their first two albums and their Greatest Hits collection. They are so serious in their cheese that I can't help but find them fascinating. I also love Abba though, so I think I have a thing for bad Swedish club music.
