I just wanted to say I agree with pvp being a real server. Even if people don't really have massive fights anymore, the threat is still there and very much alive.
damn pve servers
I've been happily roaming the countryside killing ghosts and animals and stuff and am now level 13. PvP is this ominous thing right now and I have no idea what to expect (this is my first MMO). All I have for reference is that South Park episode ("how do you kill that which has no life?") Hark and Duncan got me into this, they better have my back! It's fun. I know on my server horde and allies don't really actively kill each other while questing. I will kill an ally who tried to jack a mob kill I was going after though. I will help any horde who are fighting any allies. I will gank if I feel like it too. It's nothing like the old days of corpse camping and tarren mills vs southshore though.

I may give this a shot. No Cata here, so I'm stuck with the oldies. What's the closest noob zone to the goblin areas?
After the gob starting zone they end up in Org. You should get Cat though All Gob gank group should be fun. If you call the Goblin guild 'Three Feet Under' then I am in! we can do that... Suggestions for guild name closing in about 5 minutes. gotta get the charter created

Been there, ate the dinner and got the T-Shirt. Love to roll with the new group but after years on a PvP server I'm done with em. I can get all the PvP I need in BGs Keep the thread updated though...especially the crushing, gank fest defeats

Need 3 more signatures on the guild charter. Parked my main in the Undead starting area for a bit to get those sigs. You can create a new toon to sign, but only one per account.

Still working on downloading the client, and fighting with battle.net because for some reason my old WoW account is not tied to my battle.net account and it won't let me tie it to my battle.net account.

keep in mind that whether a first time wow player, or a returning player, if you have an existing player send you a referral, you both get free gametime as long as you do it before you reactivate. Kato's GT friendly vent, Soul

I'll jump in with an undead tonight too. I didn't see the PM asking em to do so until early this morning.
I'll be sticking with the goblin mage no matter what, there is no way I'm ever going through the goblin starting area again.

that seems to be a common thought after the first exposure to the goblin 1-6 area. However after taking a few goblins through it I can safely say it gets much, much easier once you've done it once. I've done it 7 times now and it's all of about 20 minutes or so to get past the part that was kind of annoying.

Not sure you have to install anything. If you downloaded the whole thing, it might have everything included.

for those not opposed to RealID, it seems like the easiest and most efficient. Just add me on RealID, then click 'Potential Friends' and add the people from there and you have all the GT'rs who are friended.

Guild is up and running. Msg any of my guys in game for an invite. Also Obamacare and Wikileak and Glippityglop can invite. My chars are Harkonis/Banigan/Ravina/Ravenas/Zoqfotpik/Groksnot/Grumlaxor and more that I don't recall. lol RealID is very useful, so turn it on unless you are paranoid. Guilds now have real tangible benefits but it takes a LOT of xp to get there.

My level 29 hunter was questing last night and I came across an alliance player in the same area who was IIRC level 26 or 27 and not looking at me. My first PVP opportunity! I sent my pet to attack and opened fire. He turned around and started charging at me and by the time he got close, I was dead Actually, I have no idea how he killed me if he was charging. Maybe I remembered that wrong. It happened very fast. When I came back I was ganked by a level 85, so it's possible he was in on it, but I don't think so. He did seem to be wearing some fancy armor, but it might have just been cosmetic.
