Does anyone know if Blizzard is planning anything special for Christmas?  I was just wondering as Christmas is usually pretty busy for me and wouldn't be logging on, but if there was something planned I would more than likely want to check it out.

i can't imagine that they won't at least make it snow in the barrens or something, right?  i'll definitely be logging in on the 25th to see.  what i can't wait for is next halloween.  i imagine there'll be some cool stuff going on, especially in the undead areas.

Maybe Jesus will appear in his battle chariot from Paradise Lost and kick some holy ass?

That would be the all-time coolest thing ever (when it comes to MMO games).  WAY cooler than Lord British getting killed online.

Yes, the patch is already out in Europe, and it has some kind of special content for the holidays. I'm not sure what.

There was a link on the wow forums to a post on rpgdot that had a screenshot of the Euro holiday stuff. Vendor had eggnoh recipe and some other recipe with ingredients like holiday spices. And a snowball stack.

Will those recipes be usable from here on out? I'd love to be able to make it beyond the holiday season.

Granted, I hate eggnog, but my ingame character loves it.

Is there anything quite as satisfying as nailing a gnome in the head with a snowball? I think not!

My guess it the recipe will remain in your book, but the vendor selling the required holiday spices will be gone.

At least, holiday spices are required for the cookies - I'm assuming you need them or another "holiday" requirement for the egg nog.   :?:

I was all excited by the holiday cookie recipe, until I realized that it was nearly identical to the herbed egg recipe.  It does exactly the same thing, and the only difference is whether you use holiday spices or mild spices.

But boy was I annoyed when I was hunting fleshrippers for eggs with 10 herbed eggs in my inventory.

Heres some pictures from the Holiday WoW stuff. I dont have any of the snowball fights right now..I was way to busy having fun to remember to snap a few while tossing them biggrin

The Alliance side Santa

A shot in Ironforge

A snowman suit for players

Horde side Santa

A shot of Orgrimaar

There were quests based on lvls. I have no one over 20 so i only had 3 quests and got a pretty crappy reward for them. If you were over 30 you got a quest for the Grinch and the reward was a cool snowman suit that you used to turn yourself into a animated snowman. There were even better quests and rewards. I know one was some type of snowball making machine. It makes 1 a day. I can see whoever gets one to make a fortune selling snow balls in July smile

I got a snowball machine schematic after helping a friend. Not only are they fun, but they're needed to activate your snowman suit (also greench reward I think).

The recipes (one for each major profession, from tailoring to engineering) were a reward for the level 30+ greench quest.  It was a random reward so sometimes to get the one for your profession you had to trade or buy or get one as a gift.  Did I mention they had wrapping paper for gift giving at the vendors too?

Wrapping paper is always for sale.  Which is cool.  Sadly, you can't wrap stackable items - kegs are the only booze that can be wrapped.
