They've put an interesting guide for WoW. Bradygames basically put the guide inside a 3 ring binder then is releasing updates pages online (by registation only).
It's an interesting way to handle the everychanging MMO market, it might actually make it worthwhile.
However, it still doesn't beat well known MMO strategy sites.

However, it still doesn't beat well known MMO strategy sites. Nothing quite like visiting Thottbot.com, punching in your quest name, and getting all the information you'd ever need to finish the quest (quest start, end, and all goals hyperlinked with maps showing where the item/mob spawns/drops/etc) right at your fingertips. Why online sites are always far superior to a book. However, it is a nice hint book, I do have to say.

I really like having the maps, but the info in the book isnt really organized all that well, and it leaves out a lot of stuff. I only really use the book to find NPCs and use the maps; other than that, I usually alt-tab to thottbott or something.

When I play, I usually have a second monitor sitting at a map site like http://www.andorion.com and on thottbot. It honestly beats turning pages or looking through an index. I've never been a fan of aftermarket 'strategy guides', and for an online game like WoW, I just see it as being so much more work than it needs to be.

Whenever I consult thottbot, I'm usually pretty stuck, and it just doesn't provide the deatil I need, so it really hasn't been that helpful. I'm sure a print guide wouldn't be either, though.
For instance, I'm doing the Betrayal from Within quest, and I've found two creatures, but can't find the last. I wasn't able to find the location on thottbot. Maybe I'm just not using it correctly.

Ale, have you tried goblinworkshop linked above? If you search by quest or creature, they have maps with the area where the item/creature is found. Here is that quest.Oh yeah, it's good for locations but since it is based on people playing, the dialog and quest rewards may differ (class, race, etc).

That site looks good, CGBP. I did find it on thottbot after some more clicking. Wasn't going far enough I guess.

Where is the binder guide found for purchase? I checked around, including Brady's own site, and amazon, and couldn't find it.

According to the monkeys on the official WoW boards BradyGames is no longer releasing updates. To quote their quote from the Brady forums: Due to Quarterly sales, we regret to inform our loyal customers that we will no longer be releasing updates for any of our binders/guides. This is due to cutbacks and layoffs. Please continue to purchase new guides and support our company. Thanks Post Date: Jan 14, 2005 09:47 AM "Please continue to purchase new guides" even though we're not updating anymore!?

According to Voodoo Extreme: The one guide that will be supported however is World of Warcraft, but one has to wonder how long that will last.
