I still think they should rework and re-tune some of the older raids into Caverns of Time instances.

I'll be honest, I'm not even thrilled with a level 85 Heroic Deadmines or revamped Ony. I was so sick of those old raids that I doubt I would ever run a re-tuned one. I can see it benefiting newer people who never did it, but I'd rather the effort go into new encounters.

How about those of us who have played for five years and have never seen the old raids.  Hell, to this day I still don't know where the various attunement quests begin.

I did say it would benefit players that never saw it (assuming that was mostly newer players). It's fine if that's what you want, but those places really weren't that great. Hell you can still grab a few people and probably solo almost any old world (pre-tbc) content if you really want to see them.

Either way i'm off the WoW treadmill, but will most likely come back to level all my toons for Cataclysm.

I just can't stay away from WoW! I uninstalled back in May but have been reading WoW Insider more and more over recent weeks and patch 3.3 looks interesting., especially the Cross Server LFG and of course Icecrown looks pretty cool.

I've tried playing Torchlight to quench my PC Gaming thirst but it just isn't the same. I need a bit of WoW back in my life I think so I am re-installing now (the reinstall might just be finished before Cataclysm is released!).

I've been thinking the same thing. I have been following 3.3 on Wowinsider too. I may reinstall just to check it out. I have no more tolerance for raiding, so I'm not sure how much I will actually play.

looks like the Battlegrounds have evolved to become random, but it's only available for level 80's.

I wish I'd been there from the beginning.

Or you may not.  Some of us have become disenchanted with the changes over the years.  Personally, I rarely play anymore simply because the I just don't think the game is very challenging or fun anymore.  If Blizz came out with a retro server that rolled everything back to pre-TBC days, I'd be on it in a flash.

I hate to say it but I like it better now (I started in the last beta before launch).  I'm a much more casual player than I was 5 years ago and the game suits me better now.  I can log in, run 2 randoms, doing some mining and be done in an hour.  Before I'd spend an hour trying to find one group.  I also hated the multi-day 4-6 hour long raids.  I can't deny the WoW of now caters to the casual user though...more money, easier purples, lower riding costs at an earlier level, exp changes, etc.

I agree with you. I tend to like it more now then I did when I was back in beta and then on launch day. I only have like maybe an hour or a bit more a night to play. No longer have the time to spend 4-5 hours a night playing like I did back then. It fits my casual play and I can walk away feeling some sorts of accomplishment.
