Well, they've still got a long way to match Everquest, although at least Everquest is coming up on their 2nd sequel.

I think the player base is dwindling.  The whole garrison raid/group finder thing just has a lot of areas now empty on servers.  I am mainly on twisting nether and even with server merges it is low on population.  People get in farm what they want and log off.  Garrisons are called fortress of solitudes everything you need is there; gather what you want craft queue up from there.  What do you need main cities for anymore?  For me its become almost a single player game.  Now they have the new time sink of the ships in your harbor to send out on missions.
