First off, if I shouldn't ask about here or at all, just delete my post. Talked to someone last night on Steam that told me about Molten-WoW. I can't seem to find much info about it? Can someone enlighten me about it please?

A quick google search shows it's a privately run server.

Yeah, he told me it was a private server and all, but they even have a facebook page... My brother said Blizz could prosecute you for playing it?

On what grounds? And how would they know? I'm more surprised the servers haven't been sued into oblivion, for the same reason as Teggy.

I have no clue how they'd find out? There are less than 5k people on the server he plays on and that's just one of the 5 servers available. From what I've read, you can only cap out at 60 or 80, so it's not like the retail version. I was just curious about it.

Bliz makes you sign a pretty comprehensive SLA before you can even play their game. I would imagine buried within that agreement is more than enough to prosecute anyone hosting those servers, maintaining those servers, or even playing on those servers.

they can certainly go after the people hosting it, that's obvious enough. but I doubt they would bother with anyone playing on them and I doubt there's something in the EULA, which courts have not necessarily held up anyways.

All I know is that of the 5000 people that have been playing regularly on those servers, only 600 remain, the rest have mysteriously vanished. It seems like such an odd number of people to disappear. It's strange that this story hasn't broken into the mainstream.

I've pretty much decided that if I want to start up WoW again, I'll fork over another 15 bucks! I have 6 80's, I really don't want to lvl from 0 again....
