for a 10 day tour of duty.  I haven't re-visited the game since launch so I think I'm going to take this opportunity to see what's changed.  now to remember what servers I had characters on....

I went back a few months ago and the game was still sub-par.  Some stuff had been fixed, but there were still seriously unbalanced classes, PQs that couldn't be completed and so forth.  It was even worse in that you couldn't get into a scenario very easily during off-times.  I quit again when I realized that I had been waiting an hour for a scenario to pop during a weekend afternoon.

Don't think too hard, those toons were probably moved several times as more and more servers shut down.

Have they fixed any of the fundamental game design flaws they had in T3 & T4?  Namely there was no real incentive for PVP to actually occur (better rewards for takeing keeps PVP) so huge parties would just bypass each other endlessly taking keeps.  Or have they fixed the non stop over CC'ing?

Blackjack, it's a pretty cool game. But like others have said, once you get into T3 and T4 it is hard to find good RvR and good battlegrounds that all are over whelmed by Bright Wizards and Priests.

You can still play for free as much as you want in the Tier 1 stuff.

Which is really quite amusing if you think about it: the really good part of the game is free however, and then they make you pay for the crappy part.

So - anyone playing this? I actually resubbed today...I love the first few tiers, and will probably remake 20 new alts and go through that for some fun over the next few months.

In Europe the servers have been merged down to TWO english servers, which is both good and bad. Not that much choice anymore, but should be more people online.

I wonder if games like this have plans to "come back" and add servers over time?

Yup I resubbed and I'm playing both order and destruction (Iron Rock for destro and Volkmar for Order) on destruction you'll find me playing my shaman "Gurginz" and my blorc "Fancington" and on the order my archmage "Crynias" and my swordmaster "Kalibram"
