Once again, Blackjack the former business editor translates corporate speak into English:
However, based on changing market dynamics
Translation: "HOLY SHIT! MMOs aren't a license to print free money anymore! And what's with all this free-to-play crap?"
and the additional investment required to complete the game as an MMO
Translation: "HOLY SHIT! MMOs are EXPENSIVE!"
we believe the right direction for us is to shift the title from an MMO to a premium experience
Translation: "Because HOLY SHIT, MMOs are EXPENSIVE and you sure as hell weren't going to get a 'premium' MMO from THQ, we're not THAT crazy!"
with single and multiplayer gameplay, robust digital content and community features
Translation: "Look at all that DLC crap everyone's doing today! The players all bitch about it and then they buy it all anyway! We're gonna shove so much Warhammer DLC down their throats, they're gonna choke on it, along with their credit cards!"
======================
Given that THQ is going to hell in a handbasket financially, and they abandoned two promising franchises (Titan Quest and Company of Heroes) that maybe would've turned around financially with a bit more patience, you'll pardon my skepticism of their perhaps arrogant press release posturing.
