I'm assuming it is just a temporary problem that has to do with not being able to access one of the servers (due to crash or whatever).

If it is permanent, Blizzard is going to have to deal with one bit shit-storm.

Not that they would every bother to admit they are having a problem or want to have people be informed!

This si the problem... you can make a new character on those servers...  As it stands right now, all the old characters have been deleted.

That's a pretty uninformed statement you are making.

Whoa, that's huge!  Which servers have been effected?

I'm happy to note that mine is not one of them (Doomhammer).

Seriously, let's not overreact at this point.  Worst case scenario they roll back to any number of saved backups they have, but most likely it's like No9 is saying, there's some server somewhere that's not communicating properly.

Can you imagine what would happen if such a thing were permanent?  I'm sure backups are a big part of the scheduled weekly maintenance, but imagine if several thousand high-level characters got completely wiped out.

Rioting, I'd say.

Yeah, but the rioting would all be done by level 1 characters. That'd be pretty easy to take down with those L55 guards they keep around smile

Could we please remember to post the game being discussed in the title?  I saw this and was afraid it had happened on RQ2 which could have been bad for me.  I'm assuming it's WoW which doesn't effect me.
