I have three to give away too! Lets give them to each other! Yay!... What? We're not eligible? Damn BIOWARE!!!!  retard

I don't understand the timing. If they gave us this in say, early January, there'd be a stampede. At this point, I'd hold off on a trial until they have some humdinger update to promote.

They need to drop the price on the main game with 30days free, then I'll give it a shot. 7 days isn't enough when it takes 3 just to D/L the massive thing.

You might have to pay people to take them. Not one of the hottest commodities these days I think.

This is absurd. I get that you didn't like the game but your constant hate campaign against it has become ridiculous. It's far from a perfect game but there is a great deal of fun to be had playing it.

I don't hate the game, but...its getting a bit desperate, isn't it?

I wrote something back and deleted it. I have no Idea what you're talking about, but if I've stepped on a fanboy's toes, so sorry. disgust
I'm telling it like it is, if you don't agree that's great. But don't for one second presume to tell me what is worthy of posting according to YOUR standard. Just suck it up big boy and realize this is the internet. If you consider what I say about SWToR as being a hate campaign, you obviously haven't gone to too many forums talking about SWToR. But then again you probably find your rose coloured glasses comfortable.

The fact is, every mmorpg has Churn rates and Retention concerns (yes, even the Almighty WoW). Everyone has a conspiracy theory -- "They're doing it cause everyone's canceling in droves," or even "They're trying to defuse the 'ME3's Ending is a Disgrace!' rage by tricking people into returning to SWTOR or trying it for the first time," or .... fill in a conspiracy theory here. I see that sort of thing at both the SWTOR and ME3 official forums.

My read is the launch period is over. Their one burst of zillion people at launch and awareness at retail and in digital stores is months past now. So now is when you start offering trials, free weekends, "friend passes," etc. to either coax in some new players or bring back some fleeing ones. In other words, it's just plain old marketing, imho. The 1.2 update truly is a major one, it's in their best interest to get new players to see it and hope some of the improvements/tweaks bring back old ones.

I do have to say, I don't really understand how Bioware went from seeming to be one of the most beloved developers out there to now apparently one of the most despised and least trusted. There doesn't seem to be anything Bioware can do, say or announce right now that the masses don't immediately decry in some way, or label with a conspiracy theory. It's just sad.

As far as SWTOR goes, I didn't find the later Republic zones very interesting or fun to play in. I found boss battles more and more exasperating (even ones I seemed to be overqualified for). I got tired of mid to later Flashpoints being masochistic exercises in nihilistic, repeated team wipes and devolving into anger management types screaming in chat at each other. I don't know that I can blame all that on the game itself (they can't account for the behavior of the playerbase) but I found much of the Flashpoints simply frustrating and un-fun. Those are all among reasons I stopped playing. While I will check out 1.2 (the new UI configuration additions alone should make a big difference for me), I will probably cancel once my current 3-month billing period's over.

I was much happier recently playing Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. I remember this revelation that I was playing for hours and happy, and was not having these SWTOR moments where I wanted to smash my keyboard through my monitor because of an impossible boss, a masochistic Flashpoint, or some idiot teammate screaming at our group in chat. Maybe I'm just not cut out for mmorpgs afterall.  icon_smile

I guess getting purchased by EA does that to a developer. Next up is the 50% off sale at PopCap... Doom I tells ya! slywink

I think SWTOR has reached about the size it's going to get. From here, it's churn as people finish the content and unsub and new people come in and get a fresh crack at the content. WoW has the exact same thing going on. People sub up for the expansion content, reconnect with old friends and then unsub until the next expansion. The annual pass was designed to help stop this (or at least give them a revenue stream from it) at the expense of a copy of D3... I'm sure EA/LucasArts could come up with a similar deal if then wanted.

If you have no idea what hes talking about your seriously need to go back and re-read your comments.  Your post is rife with veiled insults and viterol.  Its fine, that in your opinion, the game bombed but you treat your opinion as if its fact and throw it in every SWTOR thread that exists.  If you dont like that game, what for gods sake, is driving you to hit all these forums?  If I dont like something, I just move on.    Oh thats right, this is the internet where peoples negative opinions are so very important that they have to constantly troll forums to spread their clearly superior position on whatever.  We get it, you dont like the game.  Big deal, dude nobody frikkin cares, get a life and move on already.

EA just announced that the game will be free until level 15 in July. I'll probably give it a shot then. I'm sure the free account will be fairly restricted as well.
