Hope you guys'll begrudge me a thread on this. I got pix of the box and stuff, but lets face it, the real question is -- is the statue up to par? I think so! The boring stuff first, like... The box front. It's a big-ass box, no other way to describe it! Packaged statue. Feels very stout and heft. Main body feels metal, the cape might be a thick plastic of some sort? On the bottom of the base plate is this info. The statue's feet have very sturdy, lengthy pegs, which go into holes in the base. Although you can technically position it two ways, the one I used seemed to be the tightest (no wobbling).

The good stuff! The little red light saber is basically... a tiny plastic straw. Sorry, no real light saber here! You have to look carefully in the packaging or you might mistakenly think he's wielding an axe. The plastic 'saber' slides onto the tiny tip there. Darth Malgus up close... In all his glory... From the side... Behind... Although I'm really not a collector of these (I have a Vault-Tec bobblehead from Fallout 3, and a cheap Iron Man figure, that's about it), if they did one of these for each class in the game, they could sign me up. Oh, and the CE DVD case includes a 30% off any other Gentle Giant statue. Maybe I'll give in. I think I'm officially hopeless now.

Just got home from work and my collector's edition was waiting on the porch. Must say Amazon and BioWare did a good job getting these out ahead of time!

Oh, and when you apply the CE Product Registration Code (should be on a sheet in the DVD box), you'll get an in-game e-mail with all the various CE goodies attached now (I thought maybe it wouldn't "work" until Launch but you get them now).
The camera doohickey is surprisingly fun. It just takes a screenshot sort of from your character's first person viewpoint, which means it won't show your character, but I find it very fun in teams.

Gentle Giant LTD's SW collection's here: http://www.gentlegiantltd.com/Star_Wars_Collectibles_s/1.htm*Didn't really see anything quite like the CE statue in a Jedi form, alas.

I figure if the game ends up being popular, there are a couple possibilities. (1) They might make more of them with other characters (2) Someone might do something like WoW FigurePrints. Has anyone seen one of these? I'm kind of curious whether they look good or not.

Yeah, actually way back in 2003 in my newspaper reporter days, I did feature a story on a Va. company Prototype Productions that had one of those machines (or something like it). They hadn't thought to use it for something like that per se, but it was amazing watching it create 3-D sculpture replicas of items.

Wait, Gamestop? I thought they weren't selling until Tuesday over there? Or did you order online?

Hey if you guys ever figure out how to reach the special CE vendors in the Republic Fleet hub, let me know. I see the icons "faded," which presumbly means they're above or below that central hub. But I just can't reach it. I tried the elevators that go way up high, but it still didn't seem to give access to them. I've asked, done searches, etc. just can't figure it out.

It's above the ground level. If you look at the central bar, it's actually composed of four separate sections with small elevator platforms between each bar section. Only CE and Digital Deluxe users can take the elevators to an upper level section. That's who the CE only vendor is. Digital Deluxe users can see the vendor, but can't use him.

So what is exactly is up those elevators? Do I want to save up the 1.5 million credits or whatever to get up there? Is it the champagne room?

It's George Lucas laying in an open lead-lined refrigerator, fawned over by Ewoks and Jar-Jar Binks' clones in bikinis. It's horrifying!!! In reality, it's a big garish bar with a few dancers and a jukebox of several songs. The CE vendor is on one far end, and the one giving the ridiculous 1.5 million cr speed bonus (is that for ships, or mounts? forgot) is at the other. It's OK, but I think you'll live if you don't ever get to ride the elevator and see it. The CE vendor had a couple interesting equipment items but I ultimately thought it better to burn my cash at the auction house on a couple of nice crafted pistols.

There's actually a small section of the CE vendor open to the Digital people too...I see at least the 1.5m item there when I check and I'm not CE. It's a nice, non-crowded area though if you're interested in RP or that type of thing.
