I've been tweaking Bowdaar's (Wookie) armor and one reward was a very hearty looking vibroblade... "That's not a sword. THIS is a sword!" *These were using the CE holocamera which I'd forgotten about.

The game remains amusing in its lack of character "body diversity." Lots of scrawny folks and lots of would-be Jabbas. I'm assuming the lack of a body-scale slider sort of limits them so they feel obligated to mix in someone who reflects the physique of the average gamer.

I marvel at the number of large/overweight PC's and NPC's I've seen and wonder how anybody in that universe can be fat what with all the endless corridors and stairs that one must travel to get anything done. Excuse me Senator, might I inquire as to where the nearest restroom is located? Certainly, it's fifteen kilometers down that hallway, up three levels, third door on the right.

I don't know if it was because upgrading my video card unlocked some kind of better physics or just that I hadn't noticed it before, but I've been just kind of mezmerized by the little half-cape thing my Trooper is wearing at the moment. It swishes around so realistically that I just keep noticing it.
I can't exactly take a screenshot of that, though.

Excuse me Senator, might I inquire as to where the nearest restroom is located? Certainly, it's fifteen kilometers down that hallway, up three levels, third door on the right. You inspired me to tweak my comical-if-not-so-sad description of space travel. In some zones it's (almost all of this involving long amounts of no-mounts allowed walking/sprinting): 1) From spaceport entrance to class hangar door 2) From hangar door to your ship walkway 2a) Watch cinematic of your ship leaving said zone 3) From ship entrance to cockpit 4) Pull up galaxy map to choose location, click and go to hyperspace (WHAT? No walking??? ) 6) From cockpit to ship exit 7) From ship walkway to hangar exit 8 ) From class hangar door to spaceport entrance 9) Finally reach the zone you were trying to get to Just don't get me started on shuttles and airlocks, which ultimately don't save any steps there. They just give you the illusion there's less walking, but trudging from one end of an airlock to another sort of cancels that out imho. Again, I assume some sort of "world assets" preloading takes place during all this cause otherwise why make us do all that? Cause Bioware wants us to see all the pretty spaceport and airlock artwork over and over? Please tell me that's not the reason just going from one planet to another is so convoluted. I know it's verboten to say STO does anything right at all but there, you zip from your ship directly into the hub or ground mission and start doing whatever you need to do, no waiting (or vice versa -- snap your fingers, you're back on your ship). I realize there's no "beaming up" in SW, but as I mentioned in another thread, the idea of shuttle pickup (i.e., quick travel) inside caves and deep inside other instances in SWTOR makes no sense anyway -- but we all appreciate it from a convenience factor. It's cool to see my ship in its hangar a couple of times and see it fly off from a zone a couple of times. After that, I'm really more about lets skip this stuff and make things concise to keep gamers happy. A small thing really, but I hope maybe they'll change how some of this is handled (at least, giving you some options to skip some of these steps).

I believe I have the load screens in the correct places but I could be wrong. There was one location, Tatooine I believe, where I had to go back to my ship and talk to what's her name (the Smuggler partner) and then go back to the spaceport which involved the following: 1. Spaceport 2. Enter ship 3. Watch ship take off cinematic 4. Talk to NPC 5. Leave ship 6. Watch ship arrival cinematic 7. Spaceport! WTF, I just needed to talk to the girl on the ship. In no way should that involve taking off, achieving orbit, and then landing again. I guess they wanted the conversation to be REALLY private.

Are you sure you're not hitting the escape key instead of the space bar? That's something I've had problems with in the past. The escape key says cancel the current action (in this case, cancel leaving the hanger). The space key says skip the cut scene.

I'm pretty sure I'd hit space, since that also skips conversations forward.

No, no world assets or anything. Just really, really shitty design. I don't know what Bioware was thinking.

From my limited experience (I've only tried 3 Republic and 2 Empire classes to this point), the Imperial Agent has by far the visually coolest "rest animation" in the game. I'd liken this to some sequences in Spielberg's Tom Cruise film "Minority Report," with the characters swiping across a holographic computer screen. While the IA mirrors the Smuggler to some extent, the shooting is much more "peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew" than "pew pew pew," and the melee attacks have a far more vicious feel (both in terms of animations and the effect on the target). I suppose I should branch out more, but if you're comfortable playing as smuggler, the IA feels like a nice fit with just enough differences not to feel overly deja vu. I'm to about L6.

Someone likes being force lifted. WHEEEEEEEE! In my opinion BioWare was way too lazy with kids. "Lets just reuse the same 3D model for adult women and make the eyes big; no one will notice!" Welcome to the Matrix. Say Portugueeeeeese! Someone stated that speeder mounts can float on water, but that's not true. At least mine can't. A flickering green wall bug I've seen on both Tatooine and Alderaan.

The following are screenshots of the Jedi Consular ship. Spoiler for Jedi Consular ship: This is the ship that Jedi Consulars get. This is the bridge inside the Jedi Consular ship. A map overview of the Jedi Consular ship. Anyone have similar screenshots of ships for other classes? I wouldn't mind being spoiled there.

I assume everybody knows the Smuggler ship is basically the Millenium Falcon (just wish it had those cool 'cockpit turrets' to man in space combat), so I don't consider these spoiling per se: I like to run around the ship yelling, "Orazoma boosters? Baloobial dampers? Bring me the hydro spanner!" While they've got the exterior, and the interior "feel" down, it still suffers from an STO-like "interior made for 18-foot tall people" going on, which I assume boils down to trying to accommodate an adjustable third person view camera (i.e., not having your view clip through ceilings and walls).

I would be curious what the other ships' interior layouts are like. Maybe they're all the same? Here's the smuggler ship's interior map: *The square room at left will often have a companion and some key conversations, along with cargo hold access. *The Holoterminal goes unused for long passages but sometimes is used for quest-related conversations. It would be cool if you could use it to converse with other players that are in other zones, dunno if that's feasible. *One companion eventually likes to hang out in that aft engines room.

I'm skipping the spoiler wrapping for the Jedi Consular ship too. If anyone objects please tell me and I'll of course change it. This is a view towards the bridge on the top floor. Just inside the first round opening and to the right you'll find the ship droid. The cyan lighted door at the end of the stairs down is the exit. (Look at the minimap to get your bearings.) Qyzen Fess is standing in the far aft, lower floor. To the right out of view is a room where Tharan (the healer) can be found. (At the moment those are the only companions I have as I've just hit level 30.)

I think the bounty hunter ship is modeled after a garbage truck with some mounted weapons thrown on. It has a very basic interior layout too, which imo is a good thing (compared to my gunslinger's circular ship interior). I have a level 17 Imperial Agent that I haven't played since the launch week, but his ship is without a doubt the coolest of them all. It screams James Bond + luxary yacht + love boat.
I will try and post some screenshots tonight.

It seems rather ominous that on each ship the escape pod is prominently labeled.
Has anybody ever had need to use it?

I never even noticed it on the map. the Jedi Knight ship looks to be the same as the Jedi Consular's. I wish they would let you name your ship.

I had a name all picked out and everything for my smuggler's ship. Maybe someday I'll get to use it.
I wonder how many smugglers would be flying an Aluminum Falcon by now if we could name them.

Interesting layout on the Phantom, Harkonis. It's good to know they didn't just sort of cookie-cutter one interior layout and use the same for all of 'em. Yeah it'd be nice to name one's ship. Afterall it was "The Falcon," not "The XS Freighter" or "Han Solo's Ship" that came to the rescue. While I haven't had need to use the escape pod, I wonder if maybe it comes into play somewhere near the end of your storyline quests? I kept thinking for many levels that the intercom and holo-com in the XS Freighter was just set dressing, but they did eventually get used for class quests. I am curious what this "secret" space combat stuff is. Multiplayer? Maybe at least letting a buddy or two man some turrets on your ship? Maybe more of a real space-travel-questing experience. Maybe just marketing hokum and nothing that cool.

According to a news article I read (can't remember where, might have been IGN) at some point during early beta, Escape Pods were used to for getting on and off of some planets. Apparently like the Item Modification Stations it's something that's no longer needed, but Bioware didn't bother taking out. I can imagine they might use them for some story-based sequence at some future point.
