So, how many alts do YOU have in WoW?

I suffer from a rare genetic defect that won't allow me to stay happy with just one character for longer than 1 week, it appears.  I have currently:

a lvl 24 NE Hunter
a lvl 22 Tauren druid
a lvl 17 undead mage
a lvl 11 human rogue
a lvl 10 human warlock
a lvl 7 troll shaman
a lvl 6 dwarf paladin

all on one server (malygor, or however it's spelled.  a great, low pop server that i rarely have trouble with).

I play one for about a full week, switch to another (after sending that character all the cool stuff i can from the other alts...and some hefty cash), rinse, and repeat.  

I REALLY need to get one up to past 40, for cryin' out loud.  But I can't seem to get over that itch once a week that says, "I wonder how my rogue would handle a quest like this?".

You know, I started out with several alts (I have one of each class except the warrior).  But, I've only played a couple of them past 10.  My main character is a level 29 priest, my next closest alt is a level 12 shaman.

Initially I thought that I would be playing all my characters and rotating quite a bit between them, but I haven't logged into an alt for over a week.  I guess I just have more fun when I'm playing my main character, instead.  I'm not really sure why, but everytime I sit down I think about whether or not I should play an alt, and typically I don't.

I started an alt a couple weeks back on Terenas for the times when Whisperwind goes down.  I haven't played him much (Brotherbob lvl 8 Undead Priest).

When I get tired of my NE Hunter I might create another alliance alt.  I had mucho fun with my rogue in Beta.

I have probably 10 or so Alts...including 4 or 5 that are level 8-14.  Right now though I'm playing my main one only and just hit 17 tonight (a restart).  I guess the biggest problem is that none of the other classes really suck...I want to play them all.  I can't even imagine what will happen once the eventual expansion comes and possibly adds more races or classes.

I primarily play my Night Elf Priest, now level 39.  But after a number of instances where I found myself having to pass on a bunch of loot I could not use (armor, swords, etc), I couldn't shake the feeling that as a caster I was missing out on part of the game.  

So I started a Paladin, becuase I'm a sucker for healing classes obviously, and will focus on him perhaps a few hours a week.   I just want to get in on all the "look at this plate armor and sword I just got" lovefest that happens every night in the guild chat.

all of my characters are either on kil'jaeden (horde) or thunderlord (alliance).  i've got a few horde characters on whisperwind but haven't actually started any of them.

No, it's not that many characters, and I mainly play my Hunter, but I'm still having a ton of fun with what few I have.

Just one character, a lvl 35 Rogue. I've never sayed with a MMO long enough to get a really high level character before. I have enjoyed WoW enough that I can see myself sticking with it for awhile, and want to get one character up to the top.

If you can see yourself ever wanting a 2nd or 3rd character at some point in the future, you really should roll that potential character as an alt ASAP so you can take advantage of the rest state.  Play your alt once a week, get a level and a half (whatever a week's rest gets you) with half the time commitment, then put him back into hibernation until next week.

It's a great idea, don't get me wrong, but you'll need to support your alt with cash from your primary. Remember - while you gain levels twice as fast, the cash doesn't roll in twice as quickly, too.

Why I've taken my main and am camping outside of city walls whenever I log off for the day/night.

The most fun I have is developing a character up the skill ladder, and finding new equipment,seeing new areas is what really keeps me going.Leveling a new alt doing many of the same quests I had just covered in the same areas I was just in,is just not as much fun for me right now.

Maybe after I get my 2 main characters(I have one main each for both Horde and Alliance)leveled to max,I will then try a few more alts.
