I've never herd of this game before. Not even small blurbs in any of the magazines. Also wonder about releasing for the Xbox.

Id love a new Shadowrun game. Not sure I care for a MMO version though. Loved the SNES and Genesis ones. Never played the board game.

Could be interesting. The "make/break" thing, for me, would be how they impliment hacking. Not many games have made hacking interesting or fun (or, for the most part, even useful).
IMO that's some pretty fertile ground just waiting to be used. In the PnP games, a lot of time it boiled down to "protect the hacker" for everyone else. That could make some pretty interesting playing; make hacking based on how good a player the hacker is, so that position is in demand (needs to be defended for less time), and also make it useful to the people defending you (can assist by control turrets, robots, opening weapons areas, etc).

I can't see it working quite like you would hope and dream and see it being more of another Anarchy online/neocron type deal...
Lots of missions that help with leveling and items, but very other little substance...
So much potential probably going to waste.. Have they even started much work on it, or are they hoping to get the agreement from whomever owns shadowrun to build it still?

Well - Microsoft and FASA are already in cahoots to build a Shadowrun title for the 360. I suspect that this site will blip out of existence shortly. Sad but true.

I wonder if they even have a license to do this. Sadly, talent doesn't equal common business sense.
As for the game itself, I'd rather see a normal cyberpunk game without the magic. I thought Shadowrun was an interesting setting, and one that didn't need the magic elements.

FASA sold some of their titles about ten years ago if I remember right. The rights to Shadowrun are held by a German company now I think. Ah found the wikipedia article.

Shadowrun was always one of my favorite PnP games. I love the fantasy/cyberpunk blend and I long to play it again one day. I'd prefer it not to be in MMO form, unless it was some clone of WoW. Then I'd be in like flint.
