I tried as well.  Here was my response to the why pick me section. 
"Played Elder Scrolls games since Daggerfall and have always dreamed of an MMORPG version.  I might not have as much time to dedicate to this genre as I used to (I used to be a hardcore MMORPG player...till I took a keyboard to the knee) but I'm willing to point out bugs and make suggestions in a polite and non flaming way .  Plus by choosing me you will be guaranteed to get test results on a low end system! Wait, it will run on this thing right?  "

Surely my witty knee joke will win them over!  Only above average chance:(

I just told them I like pie and that there is no way they can not give a pie lover beta access unless they are cake eaters in which case, I dont wanna play there silly game anyway.

Even if they were cake eaters, they should admire a dedicated lover of pies, and for that grant you unlimited access.  I wish I had thought of that for my open ended response.  I would have written it in fantasy english though.
