Copying this from the main ME3 thread:
Eh, I just rewarded for playing too much this weekend.  icon_smile

I figured it was easiest to compile my vids by map, so here's:

Co-op Footage: Firebase Glacier
http://youtu.be/lut30aBCYZQ

*Primarily with my Asari Vanguard, which I really enjoying playing. That's probably my favorite map cause it's tight, no dull spots, and a shotgun's useful due to all the CQB situations.  icon_cool The footage sort of starts in the hallway, moves into the basement so to speak, then into the main lab area (or whatever it is) and then into the platform where the extraction takes place and all sorts of nuttiness goes on.

*When my Asari's wearing yellow, it was a duo with European bud Topper; when wearing pink, it was with CaptainFooz (pal of someone here, I forget who?) and Topper.

Fishing around the official forums (there's no dev tracker afik), saw a thread there about multiplayer balance changes:
http://social.bioware.com/forum/Mass-Effect-3/Mass-Effect-3-Multiplayer-Discussion-/Multiplayer-Balance-Changes-9544143-1.html
*I assume we're automatically patched to this at some point, though I've not noticed any kind of update in-game.

Also, I did see a moderator had responded to that petition thread about lack of text chat in PC version. He didn't promise anything, just that he'd talked to a multiplayer ME3 dev about it and they were aware of concern over the lack of it:
Quote
I asked one of our multiplayer designers about the lack of text chat. He's aware of the problem. I can't promise any fix because I can't speak for him and what he's able to do, but I just wanted to let you all know we're aware of the concern.

was just in a PUG with a horrible 6th wave.  at least 3 Reaper brutes and 3-4 of those Reaper artillery beasties spawned during it, and it was a 'activate 4 thingamobjigs' level.  we got slaughtered, and it was only set to bronze.  first bronze I've lost in awhile, normally silver is where the crazy stuff seems to happen.

did a solo gold earlier on to see how tough it would get and lasted longer than I expected-  found a nice bottle neck and just kept on meleeing Husks to death as they came at me 1-2 at a time.  only lasted one wave but got around 6000-7000 XP just from that.

Seems like a lot really depends on what levels the players are, and whether we're working together or everyone is just running off in far directions on the map (which happens a lot on PUGs). Since very few PUG players seem willing to use their headset mics at all (or don't have them), there's sometimes seemingly no communication, though at least the co-op game has a lot of auto-voice lines ("watch your fire!" with friendly fire, "Nice!" when someone rezzes you, "Cover me" when activating an objective item that requires you to be out of combat for a few seconds, etc.).

I did a few PUGs on Silver last night, and mostly it was ugly. We had one very good run on one of the demo maps, but otherwise it was a lot of people either bunching up on top of each other (lots of FF) or everyone running in opposite directions and dying.

I think some manually activated voice lines like "Join me!" or "Cover me!" or what have you might help if people either don't have mics or are just plain shy, if they're not adding text chat at some point.

I noticed one of the Engineer's late skills is a turret (floating one). It looks so much like the Geth turrets that I get them confused.  icon_razz

I'm working on a third gameplay movie compilation. This one will be Firebase Reactor. I got a lot of footage both using different classes myself, and watching other players play, so this time I might divvy up the footage a bit by class. I got all that grouped up last night, but need to do a little more editing down tonight.

I keep wishing the game had Space Marine style jet packs (or maybe a less powerful but similar gizmo) but I assume that's not in the Mass Effect ouevre?  icon_cool

*I already find most Geth a pain in the ass, do they really need "buffs"?  confused

*Geth Prime
- (Silver) Reduced chance to play hit reactions from 35% to 27.5%

Anyone know what that underlined means? I think Geth Prime's the kind that blows up spectacularly when close to their demise but it seems to happen with that type always. So I guess it's some sort of attack-reaction they do?

I'm guessing that means the GP is knocked back or otherwise stumbles/flinches after getting shot.

note to self:  trying to melee a Banshee at full strength is a bad idea.

unlocked the secondary color option somehow, so I gave my soldier a pseudo Iron Man look.

I'm in love with my Krogan sentinel maxed melee/rage damage with weapon damage only drawback is that he's slooooow and no dodge what so ever.  I haven't had the same luck with my Krogan Soldier, with him I went for max weapon damage max health and my weapons are all pretty much in the II to III range so he doesn't do so hot. Are you guys having much luck getting weapons?

My Asari Vanguard (biotic charge/stasis/lift grenades) has gotten some solid weapons, including a rapid-firing shotgun and an awesome but inaccurate (shakes badly, and I don't yet have a weapons mod that would alleviate that) assault rifle, Revenant:

*Alas, Revenant's extremely heavy, and messes up your power recharge % unless you equip the dinkiest pistol as secondary, or just skip using a secondary weapon at all.

I just have lousy store-luck in that I'm always getting upgrades for stuff that particular character, as I play him/her, doesn't usually want to use.

Starting yesterday for something like 140+ hours, the equipment store let me buy these 20K credit special equipment packs. I haven't seen any mind blowing weapons so far buying those packs but it's definitely nice to have clumps of 5 cobra missiles, gel packs, etc.:

*I guess those are strictly equipment, and weapons aren't included. I don't know if I unlocked its availability somehow, or if it's just some sort of temporary sale they started.

Leaderboard-wise:

*My European bud Topper must just be playing like crazy every night. His score was well below me on Sunday night.  icon_razz

While I'm still enjoying PUGs (everyone on my friends list is Too Tired or is just doing single player during the week), it seems like the quality is gradually ramping down. Ran into a couple clowns who started attacking each other in a game last night, I guess upset over friendly fire incidents.

Although you get an accuracy bonus while shooting from cover, it seems like 80% of the playerbase either doesn't know they can shoot from cover or doesn't care, judging by how many folks play. So instead of shooting from cover, I end up in these groups where people are dancing a jig left and right and constantly shooting each other in the back.  disgust I had one solid group late last night on one of the demo maps, I would've stuck with them but I was... Too Tired.  icon_razz

I believe L20 is the cap on a character's level, right? I got a couple to 18, 19.

Honestly, the L7 rating I guess is more just a reward for trying a lot of different characters, or for getting a few characters high in levels.

aha!  I see, it doesn't add character levels until you've created a character in that class.  so I did some quick creations and now I'm 35.

My PUG finished my favorite map, Firebase Glacier, on Silver last night. It wasn't without adventure, in spite of our group having enough Cobra missiles to take down the Banshees. We seemed to do a pretty good job of focus-firing on the Brutes so they didn't cause too much havoc.

I swear I was the only person on the group using cover fire at all sometimes, and we had this annoying habit of constantly running in front of each other's line of fire. And at one point two guys started attacking each other (while we were in the midst of getting swarmed). Since nobody much uses headset mics, I couldn't tell if they were mad at each other or just clowning around.

In spite of all that, we stuck together in the lobby after completing the map. I woulda stayed another round, but it was just too darn late. I kinda wish they had some buttons to add folks to your friends list, kind of like that option in SWTOR at end of a Flashpoint when turning it in.

Supposedly this lets you entirely respec him in terms of the powers points distribution, right? My Vanguard seems stuck on L19. Although that's mostly cause nearly all my PUG groups have been 2-3 waves and out disasters.  icon_razz I'd like to rework her stasis points; basically, I went with the choices that make the stasis bubbles grab onto more enemies (giant bubble they walk into) and the hold lasts longer. So, like a "crowd control" class in an mmorpg.

I'd like to try the ones instead that increase all player/teammate damage done to a single held target, but then it only affects one target at a time, as I understand it.

Oh from a PUG game on Monday, clearly this Phoxius guy (see lower right) needs to get out more, or perhaps is unemployed.  icon_eek

If you promote you have to start all over again, but you get war assets in SP.

And a happy SP campaign ending where Shepard travels back in time to early 1995 to convince Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk to stay in medicine, thus preventing the creation of Bioware, thus preventing the entire Mass Effect series from ever being created at all, thus saving millions of gamers the Agony of The Controversial Ending and making 2012 a much happier time for gamers.  icon_smile

It's like The Terminator, but without guns... Bring your own!

Wow, and all that just for promoting a character in ME3! Mind blowing, no?  smirk

I was out of town Friday and only saw this today -- kinda neat bonus for tackling the Reaper Brutes, and for completing a Reaper-infested zone at the Silver or Gold challenge levels:

Haven't succeeded yet (Banshees usually eventually demolishing my teams once we're out of Cobra missiles) so I can't yet say what's in the Victory Pack. Haven't seen a Global Brute Kill Counter yet.  icon_smile

Oh I had only seen the "in game" announcement. EA's official is more specific:

EA Announces ME3's Operation Goliath
Quote
Operation Goliath
* Any player who is part of a squad that beats the Reaper faction on Silver difficulty or better will unlock one Commendation Pack. This means that at least one member of the squad must be extracted at the end of the mission – this will earn all squad members the reward. Each player can earn a maximum of one pack and each pack contains a random N7 Arsenal Weapon. Originally only available as single-player weapons via the N7 Collector’s Edition, these multiplayer variants will be exceptionally rare and are NOT obtainable through regular purchasable Reinforcement Packs.

The Commendation Packs will contain one of the following guns at random: (1) N7 Crusader Shotgun, (2) N7 Eagle Pistol, (3) N7 Hurricane SMG and (4) N7 Valiant Sniper Rifle.

Destroy as many brutes as possible – if the multiplayer community kills a combined 1 MILLION brutes within the hours of the challenge, ALL players will receive a Victory Pack as a reward.
So basically this is a chance to get some of the single-player only CE weapons in the co-op game.

My PUGs have been awful today, and haven't been able to even get close to completing one at Silver so far.

I just remembered to check this forum for the first time in ages. Been doing a bit of the multiplayer the last couple days. Origin name is Scintillaen.

I just play bronze while I'm levelling my guys, so I'm not worried about trying to get the reward for surviving silver. Hoping to unlock more classes this weekend.

pugs have been surprisingly decent for me so far.  my only complaint is when the host drops because he goes down in a round.  it's happened a few times, and always when the host is out of the current wave.

I did finally break through with a partial-PUG yesterday (my Denmark bud Topper and me grouped with a couple public game folks).  icon_smile I dunno -- most of my characters are now just using the Revenant assault rifle with no secondary (to keep powers recharge % speed up) so I'm not really even sure I want the event reward weapons that much (doesn't include an assault rifle).

If you're OK sharing your Origins ID here, I've been trying to keep my initial thread post here updated with everybody so far (will add a couple I missed).

The official forums had a FAQ about the weekend event.
Quote
PLEASE NOTE THAT REWARDS WILL UNLOCK ON TUESDAY, MARCH 20 @ 5 PM PST. YOU MUST REDEEM (OPEN) YOUR PACKS IN THE MULTIPLAYER STORE MENU WITHIN 7 DAYS, AT WHICH POINT THE PACKS WILL EXPIRE AND CANNOT BE RESTORED.

THIS CHALLENGE IS ONLY IN EFFECT ON XBOX 360 AND PC. UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO TECHNICAL LIMITATIONS, WE ARE UNABLE TO EXTEND THIS PROGRAM TO THE PLAYSTATION 3 PLATFORM.
Others here pointed that out, just thought I'd emphasize the above. Bioware used the All Caps.  icon_smile

And the Q&A:
Quote
How do I participate in the N7 Challenge Weekend “Operation: Goliath”:
To participate, you will need to:
*Ensure you have access to Mass Effect 3 multiplayer and can play matches
*Progress tracking and unlocks are only possible if you have data tracking enabled. To verify this, in the game go to: Options -> Online -> Upload Gameplay Feedback, and make sure it is “ON”.  If this is set to “OFF” your completion and/or contribution to the challenges will not be tracked and you will not receive any unlocks.

When will I receive the unlockable packs, and do I need to input a code to get them?

Unlocks will be granted at 5PM PST, Tuesday March 20.  No codes are required, you will automatically receive your packs in the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer Store.

What is in the Commendation and Victory Packs? Can I choose my unlocks?
The Commendation Pack and Victory Packs contain a number of upgrades and consumables for use in ME3 multiplayer. The Commendation Packs will contain one of the following guns at random: N7 Crusader Shotgun, N7 Eagle Pistol, N7 Hurricane SMG, and N7 Valiant Sniper Rifle.  This unlock cannot be swapped or changed.

I failed to get extracted in a Silver match versus the Reaper faction, but my squad mate was extracted. Will I still receive a Commendation Pack?
Yes.

Is a full squad of 4 required to unlock the Commendation Pack by beating Reaper Faction on Silver?
No – but it is recommended to improve your chances! As long as one person makes it out alive (extraction) all members of the squad will get a Commendation Pack when they are unlocked on Tuesday.

How will the community know if it has killed 1 Million brutes by Monday 5 am PST?
We will announce the results on our facebook page, twitter and forum sometime on Monday.

Do I have to play multiplayer during the challenge to get the Victory Pack unlock?
No – if the community kills 1 Million brutes within the challenge period, ALL players will receive the Victory Pack. However, your contribution to the kill count would be greatly appreciated!

I think I should have received a Commendation Pack and/or a Victory Pack but did not. What should I do?
You should verify the following:
*You were logged in with the correct Origin ID (linked to your Xbox Gamertag or PSN ID if you are playing on a console)
*Verify you have data tracking enabled per the first question in this FAQ: in the game, go to Options -> Online -> Upload Gameplay Feedback, and make sure it is “ON”.  If it was “OFF” during the challenge period, you will not be able to receive the unlocks.
*Please note that you must redeem (open) the packs within 7 days of receiving them. They will disappear from your multiplayer Store menu after that and you will not be able to have them restored. Don’t delay in obtaining/redeeming your packs.
P.S. At some point last night the 'E' key (not used in ME3 MP, but I guess I was mashing the neighboring w,s,d keys a lot) "unclipped" from my Logitech illuminated keyboard and started flopping around loosely in the middle of the game. At some point I managed to mash it back on.  icon_razz

Hail, hail, the gang's all here.  icon_smile

Had a lot of epic games today. Almost as intense as The Walking Dead's season 2 finale.  icon_cool I don't know how we got through some of the scrapes, which often involved 2 banshees, and 2 brutes, and 2 ravagers, all at the same time. It got messy. And I sure as hell don't wanna play Reapers again in co-op for a while once this event's over!  icon_razz

While I took lots of video, my Vista 64-bit has been acting very strange in recent days, and seems to lockup instantly the moment I try to view any of my FRAPS videos in their folder. Until I can figure that particular bit of crazy out, I'm going to have to put my video plans on the backburner.

My helmet visors were too covered with Reaper slime and blood to notice.  icon_razz

It's probably my imagination but the Brutes on Silver mode just seem to act... meaner. They seem to charge more. I keep trying to keep short walls and boxes between me and them, which gets amusing at times.

I'm not certain yet, but I think after a weekend of troubleshooting getting me nowhere, my freezing could just boil down to the AMD/ATI driver update from earlier last week.

That was great fun. I was very happy when we managed a partial extraction on Silver w/Reapers  to qualify for the special booster pack. Farthest I'd managed in a Silver mission before yesterday was wave 6.

Well, here's to seeing what our N7 Reaper Event Rewards are tomorrow.  icon_smile

A Spectre Pack tonight finally spat up a 2nd assault rifle mod, which I'd been waiting forever for:

Worked very nicely on the Cerebrus (sp?), against their armor.  icon_cool

Please add "Vertrucio" to the list.

I play pretty regularly, been having a great deal of fun as a Salarian Infiltrator lately.

Thou art added to my initial post in this thread, thanks.  icon_smile

I truly do notice the difference playing with folks here. I've been on some OK pick up groups, but also often on PUGs where nobody makes any effort to rez other players. Now sometimes we do it to the point of comic relief:
-Die
-Guy runs over to you and rezzes you but dies in the process
-Rezzed, you lean over and rez him, but then die
-Another GT er runs over and rezzes you but dies
-All three of you die on top of each other

Still fun though.  icon_cool I am trying to learn to make sure there isn't like a turret or some other nasty targeting a fallen comrade before I try to rez 'em.

A Spectre pack also unlocked a new assault rifle (the one that fires in 3-round bursts). I'm spoiled by my Revenant though, and you have to mouse button mash with that burst rifle too much for my tastes.

And the interesting plasma shotgun that seems awfully heavy.

heck, I've been using a Mattock with a scope mod.  it only fires one shot at a time when scoped, so it seems like I'm playing Diablo 3 with all the clicking.

The Mattock has a bunch of button mashing but I really like the headshots it can pump out.  It takes less time to kills a baddy with it than say the geth pulse rifle in my experience.

Today I ran a couple of PUG's during lunch and I was alarmed to discover the WoW battlegrounds thing of joining a mission and going AFK is going on here.  We barely managed to finish with 3 doing all the work but I suppose he got the same money rewards we got.  The crazy thing is he never died.  I don't know if that is luck or bad AI.  He ran to where the extraction zone was going to be, hid in a cubbyhole, and wasn't seen again.
