The whole online aspect of the wii should be sorted. All this nonsense of silly codes to add a friend and both sides have todo it. Awful, could be so much better.

A bit clumsy of a workaround, but I've seen a lot of people have everyone dial into a multiplayer board game on the 360 so they could use the voice chat for Smash Bros.

I'll definitely be starting a room up right at 9 Eastern.  Hopefully we can all meet up in that same room so we maximize the number of racers. 

For those that haven't done Friend races yet, the default is an open room to friends of the host and their local guests, which the host then closes and starts the match.  Players then vote on tracks, and there's a 4-race set, after which the players head back to the room and it's open again.  So if you show up a bit after 9 and it won't let you in, odds are that we're in a race and it'll open back up again in 5 or 10 minutes when the cup is over.  I'll try to hold off for 5 minutes or so in-between cups so we give latecomers a chance to enter.

Alternatively, I could head to a 'normal' online match, and everyone else can just choose to meet up with me, which would then toss you all into the match that I'm in.  That avoids the hitch of everyone needing to be there before we start a set, but has the downsides of 1) non-GTer/OOers, and 2) a good chance that there won't be room for everyone right away. 

So I plan to go the room route, so make sure you have my MK friend code registered well before 9.

Once you've added someone and they've added you, and you've both logged in since you were both added (whew), then they should switch from a ? to their Mii.  I'll be logging back in momentarily--I'm the one you need to see since I'm hosting.

Agreed.  That was hella fun, even though I got my ass kicked.  Now I'm checking out the time trials rankings and the 'friend top 10' feature.  God this is going to be addicting.  It ranks all of us based on our times on each course, and we can send/receive/race ghosts of each others' times.  I just overtook y'all on Luigi Circuit.  Woo!

I was 15 minutes late to work this morning, but I overtook your overtaking of Luigi Circuit! Moo Moo Meadows and Toad Factory belong to me as well! (Until you guys race through them once, my times weren't the greatest.) I couldn't get your Mushroom Forge time though, will have to work on that later.

That was a lot of fun last night, I had a goofy smile on my face the whole time, even on the 1 race I came in last on. I think I only got 1st once, was on the losing side for the VS. Battle, but took part in the domination of Coin Runners. That was pretty fun for a change of pace, but I definitely prefer racing.

I'll try to make it tonight but it'll be later, my father is coming to town this weekend, so gotta help the wife clean the house some.
