Now that I finally got broadband, I'm looking to pick up a fun FPS online game.  Currently, what is a good game to get/play?

I'm thinking Joint Ops, Star Wars Battlegrounds, etc.  Any recommends on a fun game, preferably with a cool community?  Thanks in advance.

Lately I prefer Joint Ops and the new Counter-Strike, but if you ask around here I'm sure you'll get other answers entirely.

There's a pretty dedicated following to UT2k4 around here though, if that floats your boat.

Yeah, if you're looking for a more realistic military shooter, Joint Ops should definitely fit the bill.  I had a ton of fun with this one when it first came out but that's dropped off with the other games I've been playing lately.  The Escalation expansion pack is also coming out soon and it looks like it adds quite a bit of cool stuff.  

UT2004 is also an excellent choice if you're looking for more traditional CTF, DM and the excellent Onslaught mode with vehicles.  It also has a bunch of high quality mods available if you're interested in that sort of thing.

And the only multiplayer in that game is Counter-Strike.

But it will end up with tons of mods, including DOD:S, which by all accounts should be awesome.
