Most of the time I can't stand the Ak-47.  Probably just a case of always using it after I've been running around with SMGs and/or the RPD.  Have to be much easier on the trigger with the Ak than I usually am.

Let me qualify ATB's excellent comments above by pointing out that a post-patch AK/ACOG combo is a very versatile setup. Close quarters with Steady Aim is a piece of cake, and you can hit targets at long range if you squeeze your shots off one at a time. After the patch, the AK is the best gun in the game.

The RPD still qualifies for best gun imo, thing is cheap and easy.

Man, Hark, Kato, Jarrod and I  got spanked by some fool running around with an M40+Acog Bandolier-Stopping Power-Steady Aim this morning!
Buddy was hip firing us with the greatest of ease.

After extensive gameplay with this combination, I have found a new love.

Teggy, AK+Silencer with Stopping power and Steady Aim was and still is something that can wreck faces in seconds.
Don't let anybody talk ya out of using it!

Sorry couldn't join up tonight, although were you guys even able to play without getting kicked off Live?
I did find my last billboard in Burnout though smile

I managed to get on for a few rounds after work and made it up to 1st Lieutenant.  Still loving the AK. It's funny, since I had that great round on Creek I've been getting my ass handed to me on that map, especially if I start at the lower level.  Too many snipers.

It's very hard to do, but not as hard as it may seem since he's basically taking advantage of the auto-aim and the way it works.  Sadly, without the acog on the m40 it isn't a guaranteed one shot kill so I'm killing my k/d trying it out.  I'll get a hit then die.

I'd love to try this out in a private match though smile

There's another video where the guy is on Bloc, and while moving to his left, pulls up his sight and shoots right as one guy moves in front of another, killing them both. I imagine that part of it was dumb luck, but this guy has got some amazing eye-hand coordination.

I just logged two accounts into a private match and went to 70 kills and it was less than 33% of the time I could get it to work.  Very frustrating when it doesn't, but pretty amazing when it does.

This one has that shot you're talking about as well as a lot of other amazing things.

The one in particular that blows me away (aside from running around on vacant clearing whole rooms with the .50 cal) is on Crash when he jumps up and snipes over the fence and hits the guy that was falling from the stairs of the 3 story.  So he's airborne, his target is airborne and he snipes him.   icon_eek

I want!

edit:

heh, the end of this one he gets a 3 for 1 with one bullet.

Maxed out my AK so I moved on the the G3.  I have NO idea how to use that thing. It's basically a "watch Teggy get shot" gun.

Find someplace with good sight lines and try to engage at a distance.  If someone gets close to you fire as fast as possible.

That's all I have... I almost never use the single shot weapons... I need the full auto.

Yep, once you get the red dot, it's a pretty neat gun. Not superb (though Hark may say otherwise) but it's a fun gun to max out.

Once you have the red dot, if you are precise in your aiming it's the easiest gun for headshots.  I've done greater than 50% headshots with it on some nights and for awhile it was my favorite gun.

Good fun tonight, although I was pretty inconsistent due to trying to level up some new guns.  I had no luck at all with the M60, but did pretty well with AK-74u, at least on the close quarters maps. Would have rather had an assault rifle on some of the more spacious maps, but I was trying for XP (made Captain).

I swear on that last round on Wetwork I was every one of Mikigami's kills and 90% of those were me catching a grenade he tossed 50 yards. He's amazing with those things.

My apologies for absolutely sucking last night, guys. I had zero reflexes. When I logged off I played some Geometry Wars to see how bad the situation was. I got killed before I even made 800pts. That equals EPIC FAIL in my book so I just shut it off and went to sleep. smile

Heh, Wetworks has some key areas where a grenade toss will pinch people between what they just ran to and a wall.
Its mostly those left and right middle spots.

I am unfortunately working until 11 eastern time tonight and tomorrow, so I will only be on with the late late nighters.
You know who you are.
I seem to be up at a decent hour nowadays though.
So if anybody is playing 11 am and up, send me an invite.

I sucked just as badly. At certain points in a match, I realize my goal is to stop dying and deprive the other team of points.

Yep, sometimes I just have to make myself stop, find a spot and hang out for a minute or two.  Otherwise I tend to rush straight at the same person repeatedly.

One of the reasons I hate wetworks is that there really isn't any way to sneak around.  If they had put in at least a section of belowdecks it would be much better I think.

Yeah, but it's just one map.
I find myself saying that exact same thing about alot of map layouts.

I must say, I performed less than stellar on our 12 man GT room full of pro's.
Think it means that I am not really that great at the game, I just kill alot of below average players.

Well playing against a bunch of people from the boards also means playing against people that know the general (and some specific) tactics/patterns that you like, and the places you tend to frequent.

This is the key, I for one am really good at remembering who goes where when and what they do when there for each person.  I then use that information against them whenever they are on the other team slywink

Played a bit more tonight with strangers (after the late afternoon session with GT folks).  After maxing out my AK-74u, I once again became useless trying to find a new gun I could do anything with.  My return to the G3 lasted 2 deaths or so, as I simply can't pull the trigger fast enough on that thing unless I'm shooting someone in the back.  So I moved on to the Skorpion.  I did ok with that one, but it is just plain the wrong gun for certain maps (well, at least in these hands) and I was getting destroyed if I wasn't in the cave on Creek or in the construction site on that map with the construction site. Luckily my teammates didn't pay notice while I was getting mowed down.  I didn't take it on Countdown, though - that would have been a little ridiculous.

It was a very, very bad night for pretty much everyone except Gamadict.

In one particularly bad round on Wet Works, we lost with a score of about 750-200 and everyone had around 10 deaths except yours truly with 22.  I don't even think I hit double digits on kills that game.
