I'm finding this game to be lacking somewhat in depth...  If you communicate with your teammate, you should always have a setup near 100%, and then it's just a matter of what the behind the scenes math decides...

I wish you could see timing segments on the track, or something else that would allow you more dynamic choices (like the effect of giving up speed for cornering ability) like on-the-fly pitstops or cancelling pitstops etc.

Agreed - though I think pit strategy is equally as important as the setup.  I would like to see all of the things you mentioned though.

At this point I actually dread watching the race because I know my job is drive backwards while everyone else tries to drive forward.

If you needed help in our game, why didn't you just ask?

I just assumed you didn't need it.

I cant imagine what i am doing wrong...  I mean I figured calculaitng setup was pretty much it

Race strategy, pit strategy, driving style, car quality, and dumb luck also matter.

Anyone have an open mid-season slot? My BAT 7 teammate is up for replacement right now.

We're in good shape......pulled it from the bottom, to the top, in just two races.

I saw that. I picked up another win in there, which puzzles me. I spend about 15 minutes prepping for the LeMans races, but REALLY put tons of effort into my F1 stuff, and now 2 of my 5 career wins are in LeMans. Weird.

All of which would be cool if you could see some dynamic data on what fuel load does to the car, but about all I've been able to determine is that a light car is substantially better than a heavy car.  I am shocked that you placed so well in the last race with a one-pit strategy.

In Bahrain?  That was a fairly easy strat for me to come by.  Based on practice/quali times and prior races, I knew that the three cars in front of me would be considerably faster than I was at the start unless I ran super light (and even then passing 3 cars is unlikely).  I also knew that the cars behind me were going to have a hard time passing me until you got to P8 (Leasure in the 2nd McLaren).  Lastly, I think that the pitlane in Bahrain is exceedingly long, so I knew I'd have an advantage if I could do 1 less stop on it.

So, I figured I knew I wasn't going to pass anyone, and I wasn't really going to be pressured all that much, a 1 stop would be the way to go.  A lighter car is nice if you're racing with other cars.  I was just turning laps.

Oh, and I usually run a Locost car with a Megabusa motor, or a Ford Crossflow motor.

Or a DAX Rush 4WD Turbo

Or a Donkervoort.

Huh? LOL. That's like a foreign language.  icon_lol This might be a bit over my head, I don't know what is good or not. Do you have an opening in any other leagues so we can team up in something I am a little more familiar with?

They do - you still need to know the password though - and it's not advertised.  If you type in our game # in the join midseason private field, you can see all the inactive spots.

Jeebus...  Those Crossflows SUUUUUCK.  They can be tuned for torque, but holy gog are they a friggin nightmare. The Donkervoort held the record at the Nurburgring for awhile though.

Well, maybe in real life. But the game seems to encourage their use, stating "Basic dependable bread and butter engine for a Locost, tuned for competition. Highly dependable - not to be overlooked."

I'm running one in a game right now, and it's been ok.

I thought we were using a private game slot for that?

I still have a private and a public slot open. I should've been more specific and stated it was a public game.

Which is the public game? The one you and I talked about last night or the one you are trying to gauge interest for now? Sorry, very confused today.

I need to reevaluate my pit starts per gellar.  I'm running fast on the early laps to gain back position from my crap qualifying.  Trouble is I'm getting blocked by slower drivers until I pit anyway.  Or, I could just try to qualify better.

Edit:  Oh yeah and WTG Byrns, putting Spyker back in 4th for the Constructors.
