Right now I think I have 10 beta codes, but if more people are interested, I believe that the SOE rep I met with would be happy to give out more. I will try to PM those people who said they were interested with a code tomorrow.

Thnc Graham. the code worked fine. I signed up but even though it says payment is not needed it still wants cc info and such so I did'nt complete it. Why it wants info it wont use does'nt sound right. And they are the wife's cards so I dont know if she will allow that Ill see tomorrow. |

It specifically says that "During the Beta phase you won't be required to enter a valid Credit Card number", but if you don't then it gives you an error. That's retarded. Still haven't figured out where to get the download. Haha, now I entered a credit card number and it gives me this error: The subscription package with ID -1 is not for the game Gods & Heroes: Beta Keys (Comic Con), STOP HACKING!

Downloaded /installed the client and patched up. Unfortunately it looks like servers are not open right now. Hopefully they allow people in this weekend, I'm really looking forward to trying this out. Between this and Bioshock, I should be good for a while.

I think the servers might be opened up today. From the forums, it seems server are open for the closed beta from Wednesday through the weekend and then shut back down on Monday and Tuesday. I'll try to give it some time tonight if i can get away from Bioshock. |

Ah ok. Im having the same problem. I have 8 gigs free after deleting what I could and it still would'nt patch. I figured it was just borked. Im done with the MOH demo now so can free that up now too and maybe get it patched. Anyone know if the MOH demo removes it's rootkit when I uninstall it? |

Ok, so level 6 now. Haven't spent a ton of time with the game, but enough to get a feel for it. I'm playing a Nomad which is a caster/melee hybrid. Uses daggers and leather, but can heal, buff and use offensive magic too. The gameplay is not complex and typical MMO stuff. Kill 10 boars, get this flower for me, etc. Very easy to pick up, especially if you've played WoW.
The interesting part is the Roman setting, which looks very nice. The mythical monsters are very cool too and nasty! Also you pick a deity and get some 'god powers' from praying. You also have a celestial 'camp' which you can go to get upgrades and store stuff. Sort of like housing, complete with servants, but it doesn't look customizable.
The other main difference is squads. This is the thing that sets G&H apart. You can get tanks, healers, etc as squad mates which helps offset any weaknesses you have. From what i read, 5 people can basically bring an entire army against a mob, which gives it a raid like feel, without requiring tons of people to play. This isn't a WoW killer, but it definitely has an addictive feel to it.

No, the servers were up when I was trying to play. The errors came when it was trying to load some particle crap, and I got about 30 error boxes, one after another. I did get far enough to create a characer, but I couldn't see him and it crashed when I tried to play the game. Too bad there are no settings to mess with before it loads.

This game sounds interesting with the roman setting. How is it shaping up?
I burned out on WOW after the BC expansion. I couldn't stand 3 hour+ raids over and over again. Is this game going to avoid the repeatable instance model like WOW with shitty loot drops?
