Hey all, I am wondering what's the best way to get involved with the GT XBL community.  I am a little apprehensive to start shooting people random friend invites on XBL. Are there a couple of ring leaders who routinely put games together that wouldn't mind a friend request?  Or do you all just invite everyone?  I've never played XBL with voice coms and I would like a good group of mature gamers to try with.  Any help for a noob is appreciated.

Thanks much!

Pretty free form and no one would mind I'm sure.

PhillyPeteRock: Haloz3 organizer
Harkonis: Currently the R6 king as well as the COD4 king
ATB: Formerly of Gears of War fame, prefers ranked matches in most cases, but enjoys the good social romp

I know Jarrod and PapaSmurf are also plaing MP at almost all hours of the day.  icon_cool

Jarrod and Smurff only have a few more months of that to go... then the real world gets to smack us (me again) around with that whole 'work' thing.

Edit: Also when throwing out friend requests, put some text/voice in the message so that we know you are a GT/OO/whichever member, otherwise chances are it will get ignored. smile

Or just post in one of the frequent "Who's up for {Game x} this weekend?" threads and be sure to include your gamertag.  Myabe put it in your sig so other people can add you.  Spamming friends requests from the boards is pretty much how i initially populated my friends list.  Then weeded out people who didn't play the games I play, and added people i met online.

......and I would like a good group of mature gamers to try with.

You pretty much lost us right there.   icon_wink

I've currently been hosting Halo 3 Friday night get-togethers for about six weeks or so, and whenever I start to think interest is starting to wane, we still fill a party to maximum capacity within moments of starting a game.  Odds are the Halo 3 Friday Night get-togethers might continue for a little while.

Last night someone expressed disappointment at discovering that my Friends list is full.  I'm due to go through and do another "cleaning" (removing people that don't play the same games or who are never online when I am), and when I do you're more than welcome to shoot me an invite.  Just be sure to include a quick voice message letting me know who you are or how I know you (GT, OO, or some other way).  Some of us have been known to use a profanity or two from time to time........ ninja.......but if you can handle that then you'll find that this is a phenomenal group to play with.  Even Harkonis, regardless of how many times he kills you.

On a side note, does anyone know who Lord Polish is?  He had to have had a different gamertag and changed it because he's already in my Friends list and I don't recall accepting anyone named "Lord Polish".  Just trying to figure out what his previous gamertag was.

I would love to try TF2 although I have to admit that I haven't yet.  Its timing was unfortunate, coming out in between Halo 3 and COD 4.
