The new maps are now free. Any interest in taking them for a spin?

I'm mildly interested....but could be coaxed.

I'm in.  As is Snrub1 (after 9pm when his daughter goes to sleep, and he just picked up a new Samsung HDTV, so he should be more than willing to play).  I'm not exactly sure about what time I'll be available because it all depends on when Nala passes out from a play session.  Hopefully there's at least enough interest to get in a few games of 3-on-3.  I'm sure I'm quite rusty, but it should still be a lot of fun.  If I can stay awake.

Now that I have a 360, I could be convinced to show up to one of these, seeing as how I'm sure I'll be home late on a Friday night.

Pete, CSL, do you have my XBox Live handle?  pr0ner is the tag.

this would prompt me to reactivate a gold card.  i didn't get much mp in the last 4 months, so i was a bit hesitant to use one up.  now that i have graw2 inbound, i'll have a reason to do some mp.

i hope to finish up bioshock by friday, so if you see me, send me an invite.

Hmm for the west coast folks, I'm not seeing that I'll be on that late. I've been staying up later than normal this week and, as Friday starts, I'm pretty tired.

I'm in.  I want to check out the new map pack, and I really enjoyed the game during its initial popularity and look forward to reviving the "PeteRock grenade tag special."   icon_cool  Hopefully we at least have enough for 3-on-3.

I had wanted to play last night, but there just wasn't enough interest to get a reasonably sized game together.  Pr0ner and juniordan were online, but if it was only going to be the three of us I wasn't interested in playing with random strangers to fill out the rest.  I've had very few fun experiences playing in random games.  My friend Snrub1 came online around 10pm Pacific and I don't even think juniordan or Pr0ner were online anymore by then.  And SensuousLettuce had to get his beauty rest and went to bed around 8pm Eastern time.

It seems to be rather difficult to find enough interest in games that are no longer the "flavor of the month".  For example, it's probably next to impossible to get a game of Chromehounds together anymore.  And unfortunately it's even difficult to get games like R6: Vegas together, let alone games like Gears of War.  Hopefully we'll be able to get a game together tonight.  I'll just have to get back to sending out my relentless invites.  They won't stop until you log off or join our game.   icon_twisted

I shutdown at 12AM EDT.

I just didn't have enough energy to stay up too too late so that's the breaks.

I'm still up for some Gears, but this weekend wasn't optimal.

Oh, and Pedro, I was playing Gears long after it had vanished off of most folks' radar. Tongue

I've only recently reaquired a 360, and have picked up Gears, GRAW 2, and VEGAS.  I'm game for MP in any of these, even though I'm terrible.  I know how the flavor of the month has gone for most of these games.. but I'm happy to play whenever I can.

I played my first online match of Gears last night and I have never been so confused.  Is there a good site to read up on the MP portion of this game?

Not necessarily.  He and I have been discussing bringing Gears of War MP back to life for an evening of "retro" MP gaming.  Many have expressed interest and I don't think it would be too difficult to get at least six people together, and perhaps eight, to partake is some "old-school" MP mayhem.  I really enjoyed Gears of War MP and would love to go back to it from time to time.  Yes, team deathmatch is the only option, which can get to be somewhat boring when it is all you have to play, but I think now that we have so many other fantastic MP games to provide us with so much variety, a few hours of Gears of War MP might be a fun and welcomed distraction.

I've updated the thread title. Let's see if anyone bites.

I have not touched Gears in months, so it's probably not going to be a well executed night, but I wouldn't mind reliving the glory days.

Touching. Mine got traded in. Sorry bud. I could ask my bro, but I'm busy Friday night anyways.

I leave for London, Ontario Saturday morning; my girlfriend basically booked my friday night this week and she's being all mysterious about where we're going. I can't imagine for what though; it might be a date night (which would be lovely). I *am* certain that it won't be to rent GoW and play with you though. slywink

I'd be interested in playing before hosting Halo 3 matches, but it depends on when we get back from the dog park.  Nala learned how to swim last week and now we go to the park every Friday after getting out of work early so the dogs can swim.  They enjoy it, it tires them out, they sleep like babies when we come home, and I'm left to drink myself stupid and play video games until I run out of beer or patience, whichever comes first.  I'll try to get home a little earlier so I have time for both Gears of War and Halo 3.

Why do you only feel the need to be snide in response to my posts, when you had a perfect opportunity with Purge's story about Canadian date night?

You've become tiresome.

IkeVandergraaf-that has nothing to do with the fucking thread. Why in the world would you think that we would give a fuck what your cat did or what you did to clean it up or how he enjoys swimming in your toilet bowl in a thread about GoW multiplayer on Friday night. I mean, seriously, could you not just answer the question with a simple "In" or "Out" without giving us a dissertation about your animals?

Wait a second....

Guess I can add a second to the list.
