Don't worry about ATB.  Unless a game can be abbreviated with "G-O-W", he's probably never heard of it.   icon_wink

I'm a big xfire user, but Xfire limits you into 3 clans. And I'm in 3 different clans (Quarter 2 Three, a 2142 scrim group, and my actual clan).

I'm on a lot, add me as Mattc0m.

Cool...sounds good. I think I have it on 1 of my PC CD-ROMs/DVDs; believe it was GRAW but it might have been SW: Empire a Large.  I'll install it and give it a try.

Holy crap!
I just configured XFire -turns out it was already installed- and it lists 29 games on the launch menu. Does this mean I could potentially play all of these online, or is the launch menu just a convenient way to start games?

Whatever games you have installed, you can conveniently launch.  On some games, you can join a server that a friend is playing on by clicking on the join game button in your friend's pane.  Kinda cool biggrin

What if you don't PC game? Any point?

Wasn't there some kind of announcement by Sony on having XFire support communications for one or more games?  At one point there was even speculation about having the PS3's communication service tied into XFire, but I'm sure that wasn't going to happen.

What PC games are supported by the XFire service?

Very few don't.  XFire actually works as a separate program, but it doesn't pull you out of the game you are in.  So you can either pause the game to send an IM, or get to a safe area, or just read the IM and not message back of course.

--

I have an account, but haven't used it for a long time.  I removed the program because, for a while, it was slowing down NWN2.  I'll get my info again and post it.

Just FYI the partnership between Sony and Xfire was for one game, using some of the Xfire technology. I don't think it will actually link the usernames, however, and I'm certain it will not link usernames of your PS3 to your Xfire.

Damn I have NWN2 on order -will arrive this week- and have XFire currently installed on my PC! Does anyone know if this problem was addressed in a NWN2 patch or a XFire update?
And does this slow down only occur if XFire is currently loaded when NW2 is started?

Thanks for adding me ROTC. So far I'm quite impressed with XFire despite the little time I've spent with it. I was really surprised by the number of Jedi Outcast servers in the friends server listings. Amazing that so many gamers in different countries are still playing it!

Yeah, I am very happy with the software so far.  I started using it when it was first released to the public a while ago.
